NFL Superbowl Pick

Well this is it – the big game – the Superbowl.
Atlanta (13-5) vs. New England (15-2) – NE is favored by only 3 points. Weather is not a factor – IMO it’s a good thing to have the biggest game of the season indoors.

I do not like the patsies (cheaters suck), but they do win. They seem to come up with very good game plans for each opponent. The Falcons seem to be able to rack up points pretty easily and have a fairly diverse offense. Overall this seems like a good matchup. Here are some numbers:

Common opponents:
Cardinals: ATL won 38-19. NE won 23-21 – no Brady can’t compare
Seahawks: ATL lost 26-24 & won 36-20. NE lost 31-24 – advantage ATL
49ers: ATL won 41-13. NE won 30-17 – advantage ATL
Rams: ATL won 42-14. NE won 26-10 – advantage ATL
Broncos: ATL won 23-16. NE won 16-3 – even

Quarterbacks:
TD%: Brady 6.5 – Ryan 7.1 – advantage ATL
Int%: Brady 0.5 – Ryan 1.3 – advantage NE
Comp%: Brady 67.4 – Ryan 69.9 – advantage ATL
QBR: Brady 83.1 – Ryan 83.3 – even
Yards/game: Brady 296 – Ryan 309 – even

Rushing:
Y/G: ATL 120.5 – NE 117.0 – even

Offense in league: ATL 1st – NE 3rd – even

Fumbles: ATL 8 – NE 27 – advantage ATL

Defense in league: ATL 27th – NE 1st – advantage NE

Kicking:
FG %: ATL 91.9 – NE 84.4 – advantage ATL
PAT: ATL 98.2 – NE 93.3 – advantage ATL

The numbers seem to favor ATL. My choice . . . Falcons

I hear the Budweiser commercial will be worth the watch.

Back in May of 20 I wrote a of posts about my lil buddy Dude – he was a cat, a very cool cat. He had all the looks of a breed known as a “Chantilly”. When I first encountered him in 2009 he could fit in the palm of my hand. He was limping and had a gash on one of his front legs. Since he didn’t know who I was he started to limp away. I kneeled down and said “Hey lil dude”. He stopped, looked back at me and laid down. We got him to a vet and they told us his leg would be OK but he had blood test signs of one of the feline diseases. It could be he had the disease or had been vaccinated for it – no way to tell. We could either get him fixed up (for a lot of ) or put him down. We chose to give him a shot at life and I promised him I would do all I could to give him a good life.

My g/f at that time had another cat at that time who was an inside cat. So lil Dude (now his name) would need to survive outside until he chose to do otherwise – it was summer time. A neighbor thought he was part of the litter one of her cats was from, but didn’t know who their “owners” were. Both were outside cats and were surviving fairly well – lizards and mice are abundant around here. I built a shelf under one of our front windows where we placed a water source and a small bowl of food. It was up away from where other animals could not easily get to it and Dude could look into the house to see we were sitting on the couch. He and the other cat got to know each other through the screen. There is also a tall/thin full length window next to the front door and Dude would look into the house from time to time during the day – we called that “the face”. After a while we decided to leave the door open to see if Dude wanted to come in.

“the Face”.

One day after doing “the Face” thing he looked in the door and took some tentative steps in. The other cat was a bit surprised but didn’t object. Dude would eventually spend more time indoors and we set up “accommodations” for him inside too. When we went away for a weekend the neighbor would happily keep an eye on them. Dude was “the Man” around the neighborhood – he was totally cool with the other pets, people and other small animals in the area. He visited his brother (Snickers) and the little yappy they have, daily. When I was coming home from running errands or a date etc. he seemed to know when I turned the corner (which is 5 long front yards from my place) he knew it – day or night. Sometime I would see him dart across the street, after checking both ways, to our yard. By the time I got parked and out of the truck he was waiting there to greet me. He seemed to be fascinated with skunks – I don’t know how he dealt with the local family of foxes. When skunks would come foraging through our property Dude would sit up on the food shelf, or no top of one of my cars, and carefully watch them. If I went to bring him in he would shy away and kept his eyes on the skunks – after a while I just left him to his fascination.

He spent a lot of time watching over the neighborhood from a spot on top of a shed next to the garage.

From there he could see a lot of the neighborhood and he could watch me do yard work or car work etc. The overhang of the garage roof gave him shelter from summer rains. Anywhere I did yard work around the property Dude would eventually lay down on something and supervise me. The shed was his place whenever I went to look for him that was the first place to look. I never went up on his place, but there were nights when it was cold and I didn’t want him to freeze, I would stand under him trying to convince him it was gonna be better for him to be inside. Sometimes he went for the rattling a bowl of food “trick” and he would come down and inside – sometimes not so much. I eventually started leaving the side door to the garage open in cold/wet weather so he could at least be inside. I kept a small bowl of food and water on top of the washing machine at those times. Since he was pretty furry he didn’t seem to mind the cold much but some mornings he would be at the back door when I got up. There was a small period of time one winter when it was hard to find him. So one night I happened to shine a flashlight into the garage and a pair of eyes was staring back at me from the dark. He had made a garage space for himself on the hood of a project car I have. There was a pirate flag folded and sitting at the base of the windshield which was his spot to lay on. After that when I found him there I would call him “Capt’n Dude”, the car, which is silver and black is now called ”Capt’n Dude’s Pirate Volvo”.

Eventually he spent more time inside. He “watched” TV with me from his spot on the top of the couch or sitting on my chest. I would scratch his chin and sometimes he scratched mine. When I was on the phone he would lie on the desk or play with the cord. He also supervised me while I worked on the computer – evidently I need a lot of supervision. So I made a space for him on the desk where the warm air from the fan would blow on him. At night he would make his way into the bedroom and in the AMs he would be lying on the pillow and around my head – with his tail in my face . . . or mouth. From time to time he would try to pull the covers off my face and lick my forehead. So I would play chase the hand under the covers with him. I also picked up various lil toys for him when I saw something that might interest him. He always preferred to chase an old shoestring that I would dangle around him.

He would also do a “crazy cat” routine outside. He would run up one tree and suddenly stop in a crouched position and look around with his tail flicking around. Then dart down that tree and up another and assume the position, then down that tree and up another. Then as suddenly as he had started the routine it would end and he would park himself on the tree to “get some sun”. Part of my yard work included pruning the trees. I made sure there was plenty of room for him to get up the trees without getting snagged as an escape route in case a coyote or something was chasing him.

There is a lot more I could write about my lil buddy but this was a last minute thing. I wrote about what happened to Dude in May of 20 and I don’t like to think or write about that. Snickers came around a lot after that looking for Dude. Here are some links if you wish to read them.

The Things We Say: Do As I Say . . .

The mirror can be a real tough thing to look in sometimes. I would imagine that may be especially true for the person who wants to be the Attorney General of the United States – Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. In an interesting, to say the least, twist of fate it turns out that Mr. Sessions had asked pointed questions of a Deputy Attorney General’s Office appointee, in 20. Her name was Sally Yates. Sessions grilled Yates on the responsibility to defend the Constitution and U.S. laws against President Obama’s views, which he suggested were “unlawful”.

Specifically he asked: “You have to watch out because people will be asking you to do things and you need to say no,” Sessions said during the hearing. “If the views the president wants to execute are unlawful, should the attorney general or the deputy attorney general say no?”

Yates’ reply was: “Senator, I believe the attorney general or the deputy attorney general has an obligation to follow the law and the Constitution and to give their independent legal advice to the president.”

Unlike many in DC Yates, who was the Acting Attorney General up until this Monday, proved she was up to the task and backed up her words with action. She refused to defend the unlawful order of the current POTUS. Not surprisingly Rump fired Yates on Monday night for doing her job as she indicated to Senator Sessions she would. Mr. Sessions now will have to make the same choices. From what I have seen he is not up to the task.

I say . . . Sally Yates Hero . . .

Speaking Out . . . No Confidence

One thing I like about the way some other governments run is their legislatures have votes of no confidence. Now, it seems to be happening here in the USA but in a slightly different fashion.

In the last few days it was trumpeted that a variety of departments and agencies were not allowed to communicate with the citizens who employ them. A response has come from a number people in those departments and agencies it seems to essentially say – fuck your gag order. They, EPA, HHS, USDA, FDA, NPS and NASA (so far), have created non-government “rogue” Twitty accounts to voice their facts. This is unprecedented in our government.

Also, today another series of votes of no confidence was cast at the State Dept. A significant number of State senior officials that deal with managing the State Department, its overseas posts and its people unexpectedly resigned or retired today. The following comment was made: “Department expertise in security, management, administrative and consular positions in particular are very difficult to replicate and particularly difficult to find in the private sector.”

In both cases these aren’t political appointees they are the people who carry out the daily work of the government. Some have been through a variety of bosses and administrations (republican and Democrat).

Dating nowadays is tough for both men and women. You do what you can to meet and even get laid.

You, screen them as best you can, make sure they are employed, you go out have a nice time, maybe go to a little ice cream shop for a treat, perhaps you even end up in the sack. It is your lucky night Bunky! So you throw caution to the wind and go “bareback”. But in THE END, sometimes luck just isn’t your friend.

Take the following case from The New York Post - January 17, 2017 for example.
“A Spanish murderer dubbed the “ice cream killer” is so dangerous she’s being moved to an all-male prison to serve out her life sentence.

Estibaliz Carranza, 38, earned the chilling nickname after she shot her boyfriend and ex-husband to death in 2008, cut up their bodies with a chainsaw and hid them in the freezers of her ice cream store in Vienna.

She stored the body parts in ice cream tubs filled with concrete and disguised the smell with air fresheners. Now, she’ll spend the rest of her life in an all-male prison in Asten, Austria, because she shows an “advanced reduction of the relevant dangerousness,” She carried out the crimes because the men failed to get her pregnant.

The prison, which houses 91 men (and 18 other women), allows inmates to freely move around and cook their own meals together.”

How would you like to be one of the “lucky guys” in her prison who gets her as a female cellmate? How “freely” do you “move around”? And since she has kitchen experience do you let her cook for you or . . . cut your meat?

To be honest I had trouble figuring out a title for this post that addressed all the intricacies, ironies and oddities of the story considering where I am posting this – this is a sex site ya know. BTW, I did not make this up because frankly I . . . couldn’t.

NFL Picks – Conference Championship Games

Weather should not be a factor in either game, and both games feature high producing QBs and strong offenses.

NFC Championship: Green Bay (12-6) at Atlanta (12-5)
Rematch of week 8 game – the Pack won in Atlanta 33-32. The Packers have some injuries going into this game some are game time decisions. There was also a flu bug which Rogers, Nelson and Crosby say they caught. Other teams have played sick so there are some aspects of this game still up in the air. There are 2 other receivers who are questionable too. I think this will be a game where the best defense will prevail. If Nelson is out my pick is . . . Falcons.

AFC Championship: Pittsburgh (13-5) at New England (15-2)
Rematch of week 7 game – the patsies won in Foxboro 27-16. Big Ben didn’t play in that game so expect a different outcome. Both teams have potent offences and decent defenses. This should be a tough game for both teams. I would prefer that the Steelers win since I dislike cheaters. Of course the patsies had to cheat for this game to – a fire alarm was pulled by “someone” at the hotel where the Steelers were staying last night. My choice is . . . to give positive vibes to the Steelers

NFL Picks – Divisional Playoff Games

All of these games are rematches. However, I think a few of the outcomes might be different. Unfortunately it looks like we may be headed for a Super Bowl with the 2 teams I despise the most. If that is the case a 0 – 0 tie is what I will hope for if that happens.

2 out of 4

Rematch of week 6 game – the Seahawks won in Seattle 26-24 where they seem to have a very good home field advantage. Both teams were in average to poor divisions this year. Most of Seattle’s opponents were under performing teams. Atlanta had a similar schedule and won against a few good teams, but lost when they shouldn’t have. They seem to have been a sleeper team this year flying mostly under the radar. This will probably be a close game.
Seattle (11-5-1) at Atlanta (11-5) - Falcons

Rematch of week 3 game – the patsies won in Foxboro 27-0. Weather is expected to be cold and foggy, I wonder if the “cold” will affect the balls. I would love for Houston to take out the patsies but that isn’t a realistic probability. The QBs are vastly different even if the coaching styles are similar. The outcome . . .
Houston (10-7) at New England (14-2) - patsies

Rematch of week 6 game – the turds won in Green Bay 30-16. The Pack played some good teams and has AR who is a formidable weapon. But, Jordy Nelson has rib damage and is out; when the Pack was without him they did not play well. The turds had some good opponents too and have 2 impressive rookies on offence.
Green Bay (11-6) at Dallas (13-3) - cowturds

Rematch of week 4 game – the Steelers won in Pittsburgh 43-14. I doubt this game will be as lopsided. KC had a fairly easy season and Pittsburgh was in a relatively soft division. The weather (ice storm predicted) has already caused the schedule to be changed. But the home factor seems to be with KC in this game given the noise that can be generated at Arrowhead. Big Ben hobbled away from the wild card game, but he has played hurt before – it just depends on how hurt he really is.
Pittsburgh (12-5) at Kansas City (12-4) - Chiefs

Those of you who read my blathering . . . I mean blog, probably know I’m a “car guy”. As such along with the porn-ish activities here I also look at and participate in “car porn” – looking at and getting info on things car related. I own a number of cars and several are Toyotas. So in looking for some specific info on one of my Toys I came upon a Toyota site based out of Sydney Australia. As I was poking around to see what info there was and about the site in general I found a post titled “Forums Hacked? Adu*lt frie*nd find*er redirect…” (I added the * so this site wouldn’t change the name). Of course I had to read it, on 14-02-2015 the OP posted the following:

Just wanted to let you know there may be some malicious re-direct somewhere on your server(unless the forums have a new sponsor I don't know about?).

Tried to open a thread directly from google search and was redirected to ad*ult fri*end fin*der and a nice lady with her top off staring back at me, rather than the car porn I came here looking for. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind seeing a nice pair however with the missus sitting next to me (and her predictable response), it was a less than enjoyable experience...

After various responses one of their IT guys posted that they were going to shut their forum down briefly to address the issue. I don’t know if the wording was intentional or not.

heads up the forums are about to go down whilst this problem is being worked on

After that it gets a bit more technical and the funny comments die down. If you’re interested it is at > Toymods DOT org DOT au Then go to the forum section and find “Toymods Car Club Membership and Feedback”.

I probably going to sign on because the technical info seems pretty good and its forum seems to be pretty active. I may even post up that I am a member of A*F*F. That might be interesting eh?

Ain’t the inter/web/nets a funny/weird kind o place?

3 out of 4

Oakland at Houston This is possibly the closest game of the weekend. Both teams have QB issues and are limping into the playoffs. Houston won in a weak division and the RAIDERS are without the QB who nearly got them the division championship. The Texan’s D is good so that could be the determining factor unless the RAIDER D steps up. Against the odds RAIDERS BABY.

Detroit at Seattle Forecast rain could hamper both passing games, and Stafford has an injured hand. The Seahawks are not who they were a few years ago, but they aren’t a slouch either. The Lions are better than they had been but have had problems toward the end of this season. The Seahawks have never lost a home playoff game. Seahawks @ home.

Miami at Pittsburgh Forecast wind and cold could hamper both passing games. So the run games will be important and both teams have good RBs, so it could come down to the QBs. The gives Pitt an advantage. But the Fins and took the earlier game this season. Steelers @ home

NY G at Green Bay It will be cold but both teams should be used to that. The G-Men lost to GB in GB this season. This game matches strength vs. strength, the Packers O vs. the Giants D. A close game. Packers @ home.

I’ve mentioned a couple times over the last 5 months or so that I had been taking an online college course – Practical Creative Thinking. It is a business management course. In its most basic description it is applying facts, logic and organization (in a world where there isn’t much of them) to problem solving. A lot of very Virgo stuff and a lot of it is what I’ve been doing for a living for most of my life. The semester ended on 12/6 when I turned in my class project via a PowerPoint presentation. I had to learn the basics of PowerPoint in the process.

The subject of the problem solving presentation was my friend, Donald, who died due to his alcohol addiction and the problems he had with his business, our racing plans, the relationships around him and my involvement. I wrote a little about him here > Alcohol amp Final Lap

I found out about the class because someone I was involved with (“MG”), before I joined Pazzion, started the class and asked for my help (besides paying for the class) with a couple assignments – she didn’t finish the class. I mentioned her here > My First Year Of Blogging Here and in a couple other posts. Since I knew what the class was I figured I would give it a shot.

Anyway, I’m dislocating my shoulder by patting myself on the back here and boasting about my grade . Out of a possible 322 points I got 327. So now my college GPA is a 3.79.

I’m thinking about taking another class this semester but haven’t figured out which one. Here are the choices I’m looking at:

Anthropology 101 – “Stones, Bones and Human Origin”, I think I have the stones for it but it costs an additional $150 on top of the tuition and I’m not sure what I would do with it.

Adobe Photoshop I (Maybe I could Photoshop a huge dic pic for my profile

Oxyacetylene Welding, but I’ve taken it twice so far and my welding sucks; it’s a patience and perfection thing.

World History 205

Unmanned Aircraft Systems 200 - History, Regulation & Law, again I’m not sure what I would do with it but it sounds . . . different.

UPDATE 1/4: Due to the whelming number of requests . . .
Re the extra 5 points y’all have asked about. There was a question asked on the first (intro) session of the class, but I don’t recall what it was right now. It was buried in a bunch of things and I suspect it was to see if we were paying attention.

Re Photoshop; I’m not sure what I would do with Photoshop either and more time on the computer isn’t something I’m looking for.

There is a Rain Water Harvest Systems class at a college in Flagstaff and I could use that to set up a water capture system at my house. No books, not online and only 1 weekend. And, maybe I could set up a side business doing Rain Water Harvest Systems. Hmmm . . .
