I grew up in a military family, and have up until this point lived in a military environment- meaning most of my family and friends. In this environment there is VERY LITTLE drug use.
So I have a delivery job and I have found that most of the people I meet lately do 420 occasionally and Charleston doesn't seem too worried about it. This is kind of a shock to me. But since most of my coworkers do it and most of the people I meet do it, I'm softening my opinion on it.
I won't do it myself, but don't mind if others do, if it's really just occasionally.

Mystery

I got an email from a woman on Senior Sizzle, so we chatted some- she wouldn't send a pic- I suppose that was to create mystery and keep me thinking about her. That worked- I was thinking about her, wondering who she might be- a local celeb, a friend of a friend, someone I know under a different username? I made a lunch date, she acknowledged it and said she would text what she was wearing since I didn't have a pic of her. I didn't get a text. I had lunch by myself at the place I had chosen. I was on the patio with good food, good outdoor temperature and humidity, and a nice breeze- so I still enjoyed my lunch.
I will never find out the answer to this mystery.

A not so common courtesy

Recently I added a line to my personals profiles that asks people to write and say No Thanks if they are not interested in me.
I search through profiles and find one that meets my certain criteria, then take the time to craft a personalized introduction email that will be relevant and interesting to the recipient. I can see who visits my profile- so I know I got their attention and created enough interest for them to actually view my profile. I find that a certain percentage of them never respond.
In hopes of getting some kind of closure (Hi  ; No thanks  ; not if you were the last guy on Earth  ), I added that request to my profiles. It has worked a couple times so far.
Instead of just hoping, maybe I should check out a psychology book at the library to learn to read between the lines to pick out the type of person who will read all of my profile and actually give an answer.

Trip around the Southeast

I have just arrived home after an 8 day trip to visit cousins/4th of July/My Birthday.
It was a fun trip and I saw cousins I see only occasionally. The closest is 215 miles away and the farthest is 396 miles away. That is not counting my sister and brother-in-law who I saw at the farthest cousin's house- they live near DC.
There has been drama going on with a couple of my cousins. In talking with them, I got the whole story from one and only pieces (which may or may not be completely true) from the other one. Really all this stuff is none of my business anyway, so if they want to tell the story I'll listen/support them and not relay it to others, if not- no big deal.
On this trip I helped paint a 's room in a beach scene (3 colors), went whitewater rafting (1st time) on the Ocoee River, went mountain biking in the mountains in TN, helped assemble a mounatin bike and had 2 birthday parties.
I'll be glad to get back to my normal workouts and eating now, because there was a lot of cake and ice cream the past few days.
We watched the World Cup Semi-Finals. I haven't really been following it but they are into it and it was exciting. Also, I had my laptop with me and was able to get some work done in the down times.
I drove nearly 1000 miles and my car does pretty well on trips. I got music via Pandora on the phone in rural areas where the only radio station choices are religious and country (much better!). I got to show off some improvements I've recently done to my car (to the guys- the girls don't care about that stuff LOL )
Now it's back to work (and play) here in Charleston

Complaint of the week

This blog will not always be complaints, but sometimes they need to be aired.
I just wrote a "suggestion" to Senior Sizzle (not sure if it sent tho because it took me to a questions/answers list on different topics that "may" be related to my suggestion).
My complaint is the old profiles on Senior Sizzle. The "Members Near Me" tab has shown the same photos for months- no change whatsoever. It is filled with profiles that have not been used by their originators for 3 months or more. I say that is not helpful- I'd rather see that valuable space on the homepage filled with profiles of new and active members- people I would contact to and who may respond to me. It seems counterproductive to have unused profiles front and center when active people would love to have that space.

I'm doing some planning for a 4th of July trip. I'm going to take the time to drive 2 states over and visit some cousins whose houses I have yet to see. One cousin has a new baby- that's exciting!
I was contacted by a woman and she opened her pics for me. I did not find her attractive, so wrote her a nice note letting her know (I wished her good luck in her search). I have gotten a couple of 'thanks for the email but I'm not interested' messages- I like it when people do that. I wish more people would.
I didn't think I'd get to participate in Motorcycle Ride To Work Day since I work at home, but I did! I went to a motorcycle club event that morning (June 16th), then I rode home, which in this case was riding to work.

Start of my Blog

I said to myself- "Self, I should start a blog." So here goes...
I restarted my home workout program today. I have a weight bench, dumbells, and weights at home and the program also includes bodyweight exercises. I've got my computer and speakers set up for workout music. Water, pre-workout, and protein are all close at hand.
I did the program for 3 months then stopped so I could concentrate on exercise that specifically helps with my bi-annual Air Force Physical Fitness Test- specifically running, pushups, and sit ups. On June 7th I passed the test. I don't do as well as others but passing is all that matters to me. I got an 82 on a 100 scale with a 70 required to pass.
This week I've been getting a lot done each day. Today is going that way too. Sleep in (8am) / stretch / workout / shower / start blog / attend charity/social event with motorcycle club (which will last Noon through dinnertime) / after that? 
Notes:
I will try to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar, but I do have my own style of writing.
I can't say now how often I'll post entries, but we'll see.
