A local independent record shop at my parents a market town in the North East of England was having a live concert by Charlie Simpson. I frequently go to this record shop a lot and have bought a lot of Vinyl old and new.
When I asked if I could come along the owner who I thought was o.k, and alright said no, there was no room. I felt that he thought of me as an embarrassment, which also hurt me and made me feel rejected, awkward and inferior and that I would cramp his and the shops style.
I have had similar situations previously and there is no doubt it will likely happen in the future, but I remind myself there are those people who are o.k and have accepted me, and that have made me feel that I belong to, not disapprove of but be a part of.
