Another unsolicited call...

The caller ID didn't say anything more than the phone number they were supposedly calling from.... So today I decided to answer it.

What do I hear from the other side of the connection? Well, I'm not sure I remember the exact words but it was something to the effect of... "This is an important call." My immediate conditioned reflex was...Bullshit! Then the next words were "Do not hang up." And a thought flashed through my mind is that instant...so are these stupid fucks actually trying to mind games with me? Telling me they are making an important and totally unsolicited call to me personally at the phone number that I for AND that I can't hang up?

Can you guess who it was from? Did you guess ? I've had a long standing disagreement with these bastards. Now don't get me wrong... I love the service they provide when I'm looking for something etc. But their tactics for getting people who happen own businesses their blackmail or extortion for "Fixing the free listing" they offer to you is absolutely reministic of the "Mob gangster insurance plans" to keep them from burning your place of business down. Now given my circumstances I don't want their free listing. I tried several years ago to get them on separate occasions remove the bogus listing they had put up on my business. What a bunch of bullshit run around that turned out be. I temporarily succeeded in getting them remove the bogus information for a short period of time but then it returned. The same misinformation concerning my business listed on the internet for all see and get misguided. Of course the endless calls trying coerce into giving them approximately a few hundred dollars for a onetime fee to fix the listing restarted also.

I find these tactics to be very abusive to say the least. I have never wanted or asked list my business in anyway that I can recall. I have tried fix the listing after trying get it removed but no way in hell you can do that...unless you for that extorsionistic fee.

So What do you think I did after I heard the "do not hang up" Command? Damn right I hung up. FUCK you . So put that in your Damn search engines and choke on it you Mother Fuckers.

It might take longer then I have in years bleed them death making pointless calls but at least I get the satisfaction of knowing they are still trying get my business/ and they never will.

I'm seriously thinking on sueing them for their extorsionistic tactics. Maybe I should get Tyrumps buddy lawyer on the case.

Who are your "favorite" unsolicited callers?

'hello sir, your computer has been hacked....' click.

    or

'hello, we're calling about your accident last year. Did you know you're.......' click.

Or sometimes the line is quiet until you speak - voice activated - and then you get to talk to someone, or a robot.

When it's a real person it's invariably an asian accent. When it's a recording it's either english or US accent.

Very occasionally, I must be bored or something, I talk with the person, ask them if they think preying on vulnerable people is a good way to make a living and if their parents would be proud, or offer them my bank login details which catches them off guard.

Kinda sad really. I could pay for a number blocking service but the prospect of having to pay extra for that annoys me more than the calls, which are mildly irritating at worst.

    Hope you're well McTickle!
Haven't gotten the computer hack call in a while but I usually don't answer if I don't recognize the number so maybe I've just missed the answering and hang up part. I have gotten the silent calls before and just knew it was some bullshit call so I just waited until they either hung up or started in because they time was up for a response or something.

I have played with them before making them think they were going to get a sale or pretending to not understand and asking them to repeat themselves or explain what they are saying. I figure when I'm in the mood to entertain myself and occupy their time for a while I'm actually doing a public service by keeping them tied up and not making calls to other people for a while. Sometimes after getting them all the way down the process of almost buying something I just go silent.... And see how long it takes for them to hang up. I have played the guilt trip on them before a couple times but felt guilty after myself...the poor bastards must hate having to do that work for a living. We definitely shouldn't have to pay for blocking numbers or to keep these people from calling us given what we pay for phone service. Have a good weekend, it's almost here.

A credit card company. This is our last call the message says. After 3 years I still get it. No longer daily . On a rare occasion I will answer and ask to speak to the manager. Get hung up on.
Another one of their dirty tricks...promising "this is the last call" yeah right that's What you said the last 20 times. I admit to having played some games with these callers when they made the mistake of catching me when I was feeling devious. It's amazing how long they will hang on even when you have them going in circles.

I keep getting the "we've been trying to reach you about your expiring car warranty", which I don't have.
yeah I get that one often too. The last time I actually had a car warranty was way back in 1993 when I bought the only vehicle I ever bought new.

Seems like given the amount we have paid through our government on monitoring phone calls both domestically and foreign that we ought to get something for our money... Seems like they should have shut these crooks down by now and we shouldn't be paying to receive phone calls from unsolicited sources.

Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.
