Missing Comments and Watched Blogs - For SiteSupport

I'm posting this for the sitesupport people to see. The Missing Comments and Followed Posts going to 0 (zero) has happened again. So what's up guys?
When I contacted them on 8/1 it cleared up within a few hours so they could not see it. These are screen prints of the problem.
Below is my Watched Blogs list, there were about 6 profiles I had listed - note that as of this pic they were gone. I did not delete them.
Below is one of my posts. The number of comments was the same as the number of "Comments" which should be 64, same as the "Pending" number - it is not, it is now 0 (zero). I did not delete them.
Below is my "Comments By Others" page. On my main blog page it shows I have over 6000. But the page is blank, zero, ziltch, nyet, NADA.

The Monaco Grand Prix and The Indy 500

As I wrote the Danica Patrick Exposed post I had written some about my introduction to auto racing. But the Danica post got a bit long so here is the part about me.
My first exposure to auto racing was watching the Indy 500 on ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” when I was like 10 or so (mid to late 60s). You remember “Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport... the thrill of victory... and the agony of defeat... the human drama of athletic competition.” and that poor schmuck who, every . . . friggin . . . weekend, bounced down the same ski run and past your TV screen as Jim McKay said “and the agony of defeat”.
I recall sitting up close to the TV (probably a black and white at that time), so I could see as much as possible of the cars and the drivers. I still get up close, even to a 60-inch TV, to see a replay of a pass or other action. I’ll try to analyze what happened to cause a shunt (accident).
I recall a lot of talk about A J Foyt and how independent and “his way” he was – see my Sinatra post. The cars fascinated me because they were nothing like the ones I watched speed around the curves of Sunset Blvd which was close behind our house. I knew most of the street car makes and models because they had distinct shapes, lights and “faces”. But not the Indy cars, they all looked quite similar – no fenders or lights, no trunks or tail lights and no roof. The cars had names like; Lola, Lotus, Eagle, Coyote and McLaren. The engines had different names too, the one I recall most was “Offy” (Offenhauser). I wanted and eventually sorta got an Offy engine. I had a street/drag engine built for my first car (a 1964 Chevy Impala SS). It was a 327 with “3 deuces” (3 2-barrel carbs) on an Offenhauser manifold. It was friggin fast.
Eventually, probably a few years later, I saw my first Formula 1 race – The Grand Prix of Monaco – always on the same weekend as the Indy 500. I had zero idea where or what Monaco was – but there were RACE CARS racing on the streets there. They looked and sounded similar to the Indy cars of that period – at least to my untrained eyes and ears back then. These guys were turning left . . . AND RIGHT, they were going up and down hills, and they drove through a friggin tunnel and came out right next to the ocean, then they drove around a pool. The turns weren’t numbered they had names; San Devote, Casino and Rascasse among others. I sooo wanted to do that stuff. The driver names were mostly different; Stewart, Rindt, Hill and Lauda. Some of the race car names were the same; Lola, Lotus, and McLaren – others not; Matra, Brabham and Tyrell – others I knew from street cars; Ferrari and Ford. I became practically obsessed with racing – it is a sport and an addiction.
Again, as in many, many years past these 2 races are on TV again, on the same weekend again. Far as this weekend and Danica Patrick go, she has qualified very well (7th) so getting caught up in a potential early laps mess is lessened . . . some. She also seems to have a very good car and team – very valuable assets. She could sure make some history.
I’ve watched a lot of Indy 500s and know enough to know picking a winner is pretty much impossible. The track is wicked fast and unforgiving; the weather can change quickly, and something as inconsequential (like a hot wrapper) can change the race. That plus the speeds and the length of the race and number of pit stops, make for way too many variables for almost any pick to be a reasonable one.
And then there is always one lady who is in every race and who often has a hand in determining the outcome. Her name is . . . Luck.

Several times over my time here I have been asked to write about racing. It’s usually my racing that people ask about – but this will be about Ms. Patrick. Ooohhh, did you think this was gonna be nekkid pics of the lil girl? I’m sooo sorry, not this time. When I get with her I’ll ask for ya.
I’m writing this because in part I have raced against women in the past – a couple of whom were very good. Ms. Patrick is also somewhat of a phenomenon and, whether she likes it or not, a sex symbol. So THAT makes it appropriate for this site. However this will be my 2-cents regarding her racing career because she is retiring from racing with the coming Indy 500 being her “last race”. I put last race in quotes because hanging up the helmet is not an easy or fun thing to do. A hero of mine, Paul Newman, raced up until just before he passed – he was in his 80s.
There are some who think women can’t race as well as men. Since I’ve seen and raced against women I can easily call BS on that. The women I’ve raced against and seen don’t “suffer” from green flag fever like some men do. Green flag fever being essentially an overload of testosterone when the green flag drops.
Ms. Patrick is a talented driver no matter what some people might think or say about her. Yes, she is also a “marketing machine” but that is part of what it takes to get up into the upper levels of professional racing – whether you’re a guy or a woman. You do what you got to do to get a seat. But, if you don’t have some physical level of talent you don’t last long in pro racing.
Ah, but RRR, she didn’t win a lot of races . . . why? I’m glad you asked that grasshoppas. IMO, in a word career choices – OK that’s 2 words. She started off racing in carts and moved up to and through several open-wheeled car series, in Europe and the US, including several series just under Indy cars. She did relatively well for a mostly underfunded, at first, driver. From the time she was around 10 she mostly drove open-wheel (a.k.a. formula) cars and she drove them on road courses (left and right turns). Driving open-wheel cars is significantly different than cars with fenders. Driving road courses is significantly different than ovals (NASCAR). I’ve raced on road courses (essentially where I first started) and ovals, there are driving techniques that are very different and things happen at a different pace.
There is also a physical aspect involved. Formula / road race cars are somewhat of a “high strung” car; they are very nimble, in part because they sit very low, and have a lot of horsepower (HP) for their weight. An Indy car may have up to 750 hp in a car that weighs about 1500 lbs. (very light). A NASCAR car does have more hp, about 900, but they weigh more than twice as much – 3400 lbs.
IMO she should never have gone full time to NASCAR or, at least, should have spend more time in the oval series under NASCAR to get better acclimated. Note that some of her contemporary Indy drivers tried NASCAR, notably Dario Franchitti (3 Indy 500 wins), and he did not fare well.
So career-wise, it may have been a good financial decision to go to NASCAR when she did since NASCAR was highly popular and they were seeking more female viewers. I imagine she made a significant amount of money. She also seems to have stepped out of NASCAR, albeit not voluntarily, at the right time given that NASCAR is now having a number of issues.
However, I also think she would have made more history (more wins and possible championship) and left a bigger mark on auto racing had she stayed in Indy cars.
As far as this Indy 500 goes, she has qualified very well (7th) so getting caught up in a potential early laps mess is lessened . . . some. She also seems to have a very good car and team – very valuable assets. It would be beyond historic if she were to win.
OK, since y’all put up with this post here is a lil bit o Danica.

That one name should, I imagine, be familiar to just about everyone here. It has been 20 years since his passing - I was a bit surprised to read that today. So my question to y'all is what do you think of when you see THAT name?
Briefly, for me . . .
Obviously his songs done . . . his way. I grew up listening to my mom's Sinatra LPs - when the rock radio station wasn't on. Waaay tooo many to mention. She loved going to Vegas to see him and the . . . Rat Pack. My first trip to Vegas was with my parents I was around 10 so I didn't get to see the show - but I heard about it when my mom talked to my grandparents about it - it sounded . . . coool. When some Rat Pack tribute shows were playing in Vegas in the early 2000s I went . . . it was cool. My dad wore a hat pretty much like the kind of hat(s) Sinatra wore - they were coool. So when it rained I wore one of my dad's hat's to school. I wore it slightly slid down to the right front. I liked feeling . . . coool . It felt good and I didn't have to wear one of them bright yellow rain hats  amp; .
His movies done . . . his way. Robin and the Seven Hoods, None But the Brave, Manchurian Candidate, Assault On A Queen, and Von Ryan's Express (I was pissed when they killed Frank). And of course Ocean's 11 (but Clooney et al bested Sinatra's).
Eventually I began doing things "My Way" to the chagrin of my parents.

Not Just An A*F*F Problem

Over the last few days I’ve been chatting with a couple women over on Plenty o’ (Flotsam, Flakes, Fillies, etc.) – coincidentally both I first saw here. Anywho, yesterday eve I had to try, and retry, a couple times to log in to read their messages. This AM was the same and, not long ago, I couldn’t access anything once I did get logged in. 
So, evidently, the grass is turning a bit brown on the other side of the fence too. 
Also FYI, from what I read on the SiteSupport blog, one response mentioned a “server migration” as being the cause of the problems a couple weeks ago. Hell, I didn’t even know servers migrated or were in herds.

I posted to the SiteSupport Blog about the current situation but I imagine they are . . . busy with the situation. However, from last weekends problems they did acknowledge that there were "outages".
I outright asked if they had been hac ked in my message yesterday. But interestingly, they seem to be sensitive to the "H-word" again - that word, even though slightly disguised,was changed to the word 'Pazzion'. That all suggests to me that "security" may be an issue this time. We shall see if they choose to tell us what the problem(s) are.

I imagine most of us have noticed the site(s) have been acting up (or down) over the last 24 hours. I've already seen a couple people mention it on their status bars.
Yesterday I pretty much couldn't get on to the sites I tried. That may be true for a number of bloggers as there were very few posts in the last 24 hours. And this AM it asked me to "reactivate" my email address.
What have you seen and have your posted it to the SiteSupport blog?

While R. Lee Ermey might not be everyone's cup of tea it's hard to deny he was one very interesting character. And, while I probably did not agree with him on a number of subjects, he seemed to be somewhat of a respectable guy. He certainly was entertaining in his acting career
His nemesis . . . watermelons . . . are relieved. Semper Fi! Carry on!
