Trump claims he is going rewrite the immigration laws by executive order. Not allowed! If he wants help the Dreamers he should propose legislation not an executive order. The Supreme Court will not allow an executive order that is flatly opposed by a law. So the act is just theater for political effect.

The Trump administration has formally notified the United Nations that the United States is withdrawing from the World Health Organization, officials said Tuesday, cutting off one of the organization’s biggest sources of aid amid a pandemic that has infected more than .6 million people, killed more than a half a million, and upended life around the world.
“The United States’ notice of withdrawal, effective July 6, 2021, has been submitted the U.N. secretary general, who is the depository for the W.H.O.,” said a senior administration official.
By law, the United States must give the organization a year’s notice if it intends to withdraw, and meet all the current financial obligations in the current year.
Mr. Trump, whose response to the pandemic has drawn criticism, first announced that he planned to halt funding to the W.H.O. in April, claiming that the organization had made a series of mistakes as it battled the coronavirus.
His move to withdraw drew immediate criticism. Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, a Republican who is the chairman of the Senate’s health committee, said that he disagreed with the president’s decision.
“Withdrawing U.S. membership could, among other things, interfere with clinical trials that are essential to the development of vaccines, which citizens of the United States as well as others in the world need,” he said in a statement. “And withdrawing could make it harder to work with other countries to stop viruses before they get to the United States.”
The nation cannot withdraw until next year, after the presidential election. Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., the presumptive Democratic nominee, said on Twitter that he would rejoin the W.H.O. “on my first day as President.”
The president of the United Nations Foundation, Elizabeth Cousens, said in a statement that the administration’s “move to formally withdraw from the W.H.O. amid the greatest public health crisis that Americans and the world have faced in a century is shortsighted, unnecessary, and unequivocally dangerous.”

I am bored with the virus. Not happy social distance, but it seems necessary.
Recent estimates are that less than 1 percent die from the virus as many more are not counted in the limited testing. Still one percent of 7 billion people in this world is a large number. Winter is coming soon and that may be a bad time get sick.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data suggesting that for every documented infection in the United States, there were 10 other cases on average that had gone unrecorded, probably because they were very mild or asymptomatic. If there are many more asymptomatic infections than once thought, then the virus may be less deadly than it has appeared.
On Thursday, after the World Health Organization held a two-day online meeting of 1,300 scientists from around the world, the agency’s chief scientist, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, said the consensus for now was that the I.F.R. is about 0.6 percent — which means that the risk of death is less than 1 percent.
0.6 percent of the world’s population is 47 million people, and 0.6 percent of the American population is 2 million people. The virus remains a major threat.
According to data gathered by The New York Times, China had reported 90,294 cases as of Friday and 4,634 deaths, which is a C.F.R. of 5 percent. The United States was very close to that mark. It has had 2,811,447 cases and 9,403 deaths, about 4.6 percent. Those percentages are far higher rates than the 2.5 percent death rate often ascribed the 1918 flu pandemic.

The new infections are rapidly increasing. The hospitals are getting filled and may be overwhelmed. Dr. Fauci is predicting we may soon see 100,000 new cases a day. Others claim the real number of infections may be ten times the reported cases. Still too hard and too expensive to get tested.
Some feel the end of the world is coming. Hope for a vaccine, and limit your risk if you are older or have medical issues. We will survive as a species, but not will outlive this plague...

More Covid 19 woes

We are still in the first wave of cases, but now back mid April numbers of new cases. But now we are reopening and the problems will multiply. People falsely think there is no more problem. Wrong! There are some better drugs and strategies but the hospitals are about be overwhelmed again. Most of the young and healthy who get infected will survive, but the over 60 ones with health issues will die. Too sad to think about for many. 95% of the dead have two or more health issues, most commonly high blood pressure and obesity.
The semi-bright news is this human sacrifice should get Biden elected in November. There will be at least another 100,000 dead Americans. We could have and should have been smart and strong like New Zealand or Germany. Or British Columbia, or Taiwan, or South Korea. But we were foolish and leaderless.
Without more stimulus we will slip into recession and depression by Fall. Not pretty. Fasten your seat belts for the bumpy ride...

Bolton make many claims against Trump. Including that Trump wanted China to buy farm products to win re-election. Another foreign interference in the 2020 election that Trump solicited for his own gain and not for the U.S.
Trump is a traitor and sell out to foreign interests.
Bolton had the nerve to complain Congress did not do a good job of impeachment when he refused to testify to the House, and the Senate GOP was not interested in what he could tell them. He got $2 million for a book. Now Trump wants to suppress the book to avoid the bad news. No national security breach just bad publicity.

Supreme Court saves DACA and dreamers

The Supreme Court on Thursday blocked the Trump administration's attempt to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an Obama-era program that protects hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the US as from deportation.
The 5-4 ruling was written by Chief Justice John Roberts and joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor.
In penning the opinion, Roberts once again sided with the liberals on the bench in a momentous dispute that will infuriate judicial conservatives who are still bitter that he once provided the deciding vote to uphold Obamacare.
The ruling emphasizes that the administration failed to provide an adequate reason to justify ending the DACA program. "We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies," Roberts wrote in the majority opinion. "'The wisdom' of those decisions 'is none of our concern.' We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action."
The Trump administration could move, again, to try to rescind the program, but this time the administration will have to provide a better explanation grounded in policy for its reason for termination.
"Today's decision allows Dreamers to breathe a temporary sigh of relief," said Professor Stephen Yale-Loehr of Cornell Law School. "The administration may try to terminate the DACA program with a better justification, but that will take months or years. In the meantime, Congress should enact permanent relief for Dreamers to end this drama once and for all."
Now we need Joe Biden to win and a Democrat controlled Congress to allow a path to citizenship for the Dreamers. We need their help and work for a solid economy.

It is not news, but people are having less sex than before. More are not doing it for months and months. The virus has also slowed sex activity.
At times I feel like some kind of Omega man, as the last one trying be sexually active.
Phones and games are distracting us as well. But too busy for sex? I realize it takes enjoy sex and many are hurting in the income department.
The good news is people are taking some time to learn about a partner before a hook up.
Also abortions are down as less sex means less unwanted procreation.
So if you are lonely, you are not alone in feeling that way.

“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:
A few things spring mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.
There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.
So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:
• Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.
• You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.
This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?' If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.
