I have been thinking. With the diversity of folks here in blogland there is a variety of experiences.  I wonder how many have been employed doing construction? Could be in a home, on a road, a farm, or what ever? As a young man, before I went into the military, I did work construction, was a laborer and of course on the farm did a whole bunch of manual labor . Now that I am retired, I do carpentry , some cabinet making. How about you ?

It is Monday , no moaning, time to get up and at the day! I am a morning person, so I seldom have a problem getting it up,,,,,, I mean out of bed. How about you? Are you a morning person? Or are you one of the stragglers waiting to the last possible minute to get up? If I am with a friend, I can be tempted to lay in a little bit though. Of course when my feet hit the ground, one of the first things is coffee and then breakfast. So my advice is,,, Get your butt out of bed and get the day started!!!! ?*

I was contemplating some of the changes in my life as I "mature" . I guess I could just hang around and watch the world go by, but I think my mind is too active and my body still has not started to wear out. All the "best parts " still work just fine. Why just give up as the years get added on? I am reminded of a quote, attributed to George Carlin "'Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY SHIT....WHAT A RIDE!"
A friend of mine sent this too me, it is sort of what my neighborhood is like
HOME REPAIRS!
Today, a friend of mine’s wife said to him,
"Honey, get off your butt and fix that gutter downspout!
And, I want it done before the end of the day!”
Well, as you all know, at my age, my friend, and most our age, are retired and do have the time to address such “Honey do’s”..
So, he invited some of us neighborhood buddies over to help with the project.
One is a sheet metal fabricator.
One brought his welder.
One brought beer and Nachos.
One brought a grill and burgers. Took us about 4-6 hours, and 30-40 beers, but we got it done just as we finished off the last of the burgers.
As usual, the wife is still not happy!
Can’t understand, cause all us guys love it!
Personally, I cannot wait for it to rain again.
My advice,,,,,,,, grab life by the short ones and enjoy every minute 
Well I can not miss the opportunity to poke fun at the "youngsters"

Yikes,, it is 25 degrees below zero with the wind this morning!!! I think I am going to bake cookies this morning. Yes! I can bake cookies, well sort of . Actually I like the smell of baking cookies and I am a bit of a Cookie Monster so all is good. I have few questions though. Do you like baking? Are you a good helper or the head baker? What kind of cookies do you like? Today I am leaning towards chocolate chip, and maybe peanut butter cookies. Do you work and play well in the kitchen , or are you a "kitchen diva" and need to be left alone while baking? Alternatively it could be a snuggle in day

Well, it does not have to be Margaritas, it can be whatever you want. But I think it is time for us to relax a bit. Share a libation, and loosen up . There are certain of "us" going to go on Spring Break soon and if I recall they seem to have a thirst for Tequilla . What is your choice for a drink when you are relaxing , either alone or with friends. Of course, it need not be alcoholic in content. My favorite is Medalla beer, especially while in Puerto Rico. And always drink responsibly.

Some more naughtiness? While in a relationship, my experience is that we can "let our guards" down. Maybe doing things that we would not normally. It is all in the name of fun, sexual playing and teasing. A little flash here and a little taunt there. My opinion is that it is a way to keep things fresh in the relationship. I mentioned in a response in another blog that I can be a playful partner in a relationship. Do you do this? Just be silly with your partner? Or do you think that the playful idea is silly and has no place in your relationship?

Ok, it is way below zero morning here. So I thought I would put the coffee pot on, tea kettle and the hot chocolate pitcher. I think it is a good day to sit around and just chat. Like most things in life I have "theme songs" for most things. Todays song is my winter crappy weather song. Like most places in the Northeast part of the USA, we are having a spat of bad weather. Fortunately (I think ) it is just extreme cold and wind, many others are getting blizzard conditions. When I went out to get the paper this morning (this time "apparatus" well protected ), my nasty weather song came to mind , I don't sing it quite as well as they do, but it is "verbal sunshine" to me. Do you have songs or music that are your go to for bad weather? It can be up lifting, comforting or just fun. Always remember, music can transport you to a special place for at least a little while.

Well,, I sure re learned a lesson this morning. Don't go out at 4am to get the newspaper just wearing a robe and slippers when the wind chill is 15F below zero!! The effects were, shall we say shocking, it took sometime when I got back into the house to find my "apparatus" . I know I should not complain, many areas north of me are going to get another heavy snow storm. How is the weather where you are? How do you adapt to your winter weather? It is a little rough having any out door fun in the winter. So , I am going to share some cold weather humor.

Just a couple days away. It is the day for you to show affection for you significant other. Sometimes just silly fun, sometimes it is a very serious occasion. I tend towards silly and flirty. The real affection aspect, I try to express daily. Do you celebrate the day? Maybe do something special together? Maybe a gift? I can remember when I was a , my father giving my mother a heart shaped box of chocolates, one of those rare forms of public affection from him and I saw how much it meant to mom.
