Ok, so it's been pretty much a repeat of week two, with even less robo love. I have a theory now that the robots scan for new profiles and hit them hardest the first week to see if they get any bites. After that, they must move on to the next batch of newbies. It makes sense in a way. If you're smart enough to avoid them in the first week, the chances are you'll avoid them in the future as well. I can't say I really miss them, but they were something to laugh at.
I've actually exchanged messages with a couple of folks. Nothing worked out, but at least I'm not being ignored completely.
It probably hasn't helped that I've been busy in my regular life. I haven't spent nearly as much time poking around on the site this last week that I did the first two. I'd guess that's probably normal. The novelty has worn off to some extent, and there are other things to do besides the internet.
So, that's all for now. I intend to keep plugging away.
Good luck to everyone on the site, and if you've read this, Thank You!
Cheers!

So, another week in the can. Things certainly slowed down. It seemed even the scam-bots were ignoring me. Then on Saturday, just when I thought the week would be a shutout, I got a little robo love from a couple of profiles out of South Africa. WOO HOO!!! I felt like Steve Martin in "The Jerk" seeing his name in the phone book.
Then an even better thing happened. I got a polite turn down from one of the ladies I'd messaged. Now, you may be thinking to yourself "big deal", you still got shot down. Well, yes that is true. But instead of just throwing the bottle into the sea and never seeing it again, this time it came back! To me that's a positive thing. It means I may be getting closer to messaging the kind of woman who will respond positively. It means that I may be getting better at recognizing my target population. I know some guys use the carpet bombing technique (message EVERYONE), but that's not really my style. I try to find something in a profile that appeals to me before sending a message.
So, now I'm waiting to see if this is the normal flow, or if I'm just experiencing a "new profile" lull. Stayed tuned....

I've been active on the site for one full week. It's been "educational".
I'm going to share some thoughts and observations that other noobs to the site might find of some interest. Any old hands who stumble on this post can chuckle over them.
First, I have to admit I've actually had fun just checking out who looked at my profile, looking at some of the uploaded content, and sorting through all the trolls that ping me. Because of that, I've been more active here than I really expected.
I've put in some effort and done some "flirting" and sent some messages to women that looked interesting. So far, no bites. But, that's the breaks. I went into this expecting it to take a while. Even with just one week under my belt, I've started to see familiar faces pop up online and local to me. I'm new here and maybe I just need to hang around some before anyone is comfortable enough to reply. If my "Verified" photo ever gets approved, maybe that will help. Time will tell.
I have to admit to being puzzled by all the supposed 20 something beauties from China and Taiwan that are flirting with me. I'm assuming there's a scam of some kind involved, but I haven't figured out how it's supposed to work. I messaged a couple just to see what would happen, which was basically nothing. I'm as confident as the next guy, but even I don't believe 20 somethings are going to have any interest in a 60+ guy. Especially from the other side of the planet. If anyone can enlighten me as to what the deal is, please do!
Another thing that I haven't figured out is the hotlist feature. The flirt feature I understand, and it seems useful. But I don't get the hotlist deal. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I do that sometimes.
That seem enough for the first week. I might try to continue this kind of update post for a few weeks. Just to keep track of interesting developments for myself if nothing else.
Thank you, to anyone who takes the time & trouble to read this!
Cheers!

For the better part of my life I've pretty much been a straight arrow. Now I'm untangled from most of the things that kept me from getting into unknown territory. Now I'm ready to take, if not a walk, a least a stroll on the wild side.
I've tried to be as truthful as possible in my answers to the profile questions. If you read my profile and have questions, by all means message me. I'm just getting started on this site, so I'm still learning the ropes and the culture of the membership.
I'm hoping I make some connections, but I realize it will take some work on my part, and probably patience.
Looking forward to some good times!
