Dagnabbit! I cannot get a confirm number to make a comment in my blog. Or any other blog. Everything else on the page comes up, but no number means no way to post anything in a comment box. WTF?
The one-comment glitch of 2005 was bad enough. Now I have a new strain of this blight it seems.
PS: Refreshing the page or hitting the post button anyway still does not result in a confirmation number. I'm receiving comments, so this glitch obviously is not universal.
Perhaps CS can give me some help...
(oy, I guess I'm in for a hiatus from blogging. See you guys when I get the ability to comment again)

The Venting Blog Presents: Classic Comments
Yes folks, that's right. I've been reduced to posting comments that I've made in your blogs. Today's blast from the past is a very special one. For today we are going where no one ever goes anymore. To a basement that no longer even exists in the realm of BlogLand! (other than in my heart, that is)
I cannot provide a link to this post, as it has been long ago deleted by the author. However, the files of The Venting Blog run deep.
So let's go on down. Down into papy's former basement, where we find her very concerned over the seeming shrinking of her "lovely little boobs". So concerned in fact that she sent up this prayer...
In her post titled:
SHOCK AND HORROR
first posted on September 16, 2005 our precious papy says: SHOCK AND HORROR

BONUS COMMENT!
At the bottom of the ancient file on my hard drive where I found the above classic comment, there was a snippet from the blog of AlbertPrince that must have caught my fancy. As I read it once again I knew why. I just love puns that make me groan.
So here, for the first time in Classic Comments, I present a comment from a blogger other than myself. Kudos to my friend [blog 1hotwahine] for this basic groaner:
In his post [post 168577], first posted on December 12, 2005 at 6:17 am we find AlbertPrince at the airport...
AlbertPrince I went to the airport and I put my bag in the x-ray machine. I found out my bag has cancer. It only has six more months to hold stuff.
|
wahine replies:1hotwahine12/12/2005 12:25 pm Sounds like a pretty bad case.

(I miss my friend wahine, but she really needs to get a grip, so I'll give her a pass).

I have seen a vision. Or was it more like a visitation? Perhaps it was neither. Or mayhap it was both. In any event, a former blogger has begun commenting in BlogLand again after a long absence.
Besides a bit of blog history with her (she was the unwitting inspiration for the transformation of The Venting Blog into an entertainment), I have a great fondness for the singular bella-esque writing style that she employed. A style which had disappeared from BlogLand long ago, basement and all.
I hope she can be enticed out of retirement to post again one day. Especially for those of you who missed her early masterpieces...
So bella_... Will you please blog on?
This post has been brought to you by the bloggers for bella_ fan club.

Well, I'm off to Pennsylvania for our annual family reunion. It's a tradition, and we always have a blast. Our extended family has remained close, and these shindigs are a great way to foster that closeness.
I have little doubt that the next generation will continue the tradition as the prior ones have, and that makes me feel pretty good. I reckon it all begins with family.
What about you guys? Do you like going to family reunions? How about it, BlogLanders, tell me your tales...

Gawd help me.
I cannot get in.
It is gnawing at me, like an itch that cannot be scratched. I came to BlogLand this evening with full intent. Intent to dive. Deep dive. The most dangerous and Xtreme sport in all BlogLand.
I went to the blog of my friend [blog waggypolly] and tried to enter her cellar. It was gone.
I went to find the basement of my friend [blog MaggiesWishess]. It was gone too.
LustyTaurus. Gone. No basement. Strictly street level. (Ugh! So pedestrian).
Nervously I slipped into the blog of keithcancook.
Horrors! His basement is gone like the rest.
BlogLanders! HEAR ME! The Basements of BlogLand are closed! Ring the bells! Call your Congressman! Our basements are closed!
FEAR! FIRE! FOES! AWAKE!

The Venting Blog Presents: Classic Comments
Hi ! In this episode of Classic Comments we will revisit the comment area of The Venting Blog itself. In the post The BlogLand Advertising Page I offered various products from ringband toners and zapping e-mail filters to automatic post updaters and shuttle services.
However, mzhunyhole was dissappointed to discover that there was nothing advertised that she really wanted. Well, I would have to remedy that, now wouldn't I?
As a consequence I reached down into my bag of tricks and pulled out this gem, which I hope she can use over and over and over again. So let's go back to March 13, 2007 and take a peek...
mzhunyhole What I want..ya ain't offering in writing on this here page..I don't see it anywhere..do ya make housecalls
|
Hmm... ... okay, my little wildflower. Here ya go...
keithcancook's HUNYHOLE FILLER Guaranteed to please every nerve in the hunyhole, this filler/packer has been genetically and naturally developed for over fifty years to fit the Queen of BlogLand and take her to the heights of ecstasy.
Repeated testing has proven its value, with every test engineer reporting satisfaction to the nth degree. Little maintenance necessary, all you have to do is feed it three times daily and stroke it every night.
keithcancook's HUNYHOLE FILLER comes complete with a man attached. Not responsible for the usual problems associated with men. |

Officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton

Last Saturday night my community lost two police officers, shot and killed in the line of duty. While it is not being reported, I believe this terrible event to be connected to a recent police crackdown on local gang activity. In that case these brave men, both former military, were set up and executed in retaliation.
Irregardless of the circumstance, I consider this an attack on all of us. For two days I stood by the route of the funeral processions to pay my respect. I was heartened to find many of my fellow citizens there alongside of me.
I have hope that these deaths, and the sacrifice that they represent will galvanize my community to stand up and resist hoodlums who can only take what we ourselves allow them to take.
If you can, please take a moment to reflect upon the deaths of Officers Clark and Shelton and how they and others who work in such fields as fire and medical emergency allow us to go about our business without fear.
Thank them for their service. We need them all.

I wonder what would BlogLand be if blings were used as our ID?
Could we keep up, or must we guess whose bling is that, who is our guest?
A bling whose image will betray which blogger visits us today?
Blings of landscapes, blings of cats. Blings of every this and that.
I will not bling, I do not dare. (I cannot draw with little squares).
Yet bling is art, as all can see (Why, I even saw a bling of me!)
So what about the bling y'all gave? The bling for which I rant and rave?
How could I know? What was the chance? I'd be engulfed in a BLING-A-LANCHE!
Poetry adapted from Trees, by Joyce Kilmer
Special acknowledgment to these fine Bling artists who have contributed to this post:
