I thought I was having lunch today with a friend. She changed her mind which I more than respect her reasons, but I actually thought it was JUST lunch, no dessert.
Dessert would have been nice but oh well.

Ladies,
I am interested in your views on the instant messenger service that is available here.
I enjoy chatting and trying to get to know someone and think chat is a great way to do that. Anytime I say hello it is done respectfully.
Is it a fair assumption to make that if you are on IM, that you are open to someone trying to contact you? I would think it is.
I would welcome hearing back ladies.

I am sure this has been asked and answered numerous times.
I am married but for several reasons am in a fairly open relationship. Basically we don't ask and we don't tell.
So my question is would it be better to lie and say single, divorced, etc vs. be open and upfront at first and say married?
Being married seems like being a leper.

I recently joined here (less than 3 weeks ago) and saw some introductory mail from some ambassadors, As I created my profile, I had asked one what she thought of it. The response was great, but married.
OK I get that but I am being honest up front. Why lie? No need to lie. We swap some other messages, and some interest develops. I think we both feel good about that
I suggest meeting for lunch and she agrees, and by this time we have swapped (as Senior Sizzle chat, well isn't the best). she then decides well lets not meet for lunch as I am married and she is hesitant to meet. OK well its just lunch, right? people eat lunch, so she changes her mind and we meet for lunch. I show up early. I'm a punctual guy. We kiss hello, and lunch is great. We talk about a lot of different things and I feel good about where it is heading.
Well lunch ends and we kiss again, and go our separate ways. Back at work we both express that it went well and we would like to meet again. Over the next few days there are countless sms, and all is good. We talk about options for date 2 and we agree to meet for drinks on Friday after work and again I am punctual.
The conversation is interesting (in a good way) but politics may not always be the best conversation to have especially when you're not on the same team. We have drinks and all is good, she reaches across the table to take my hand, and that is a positive sign to me. We talk about a next date and she invites me to her place, as she can host. Again a good sign.
I lose track of time as I am having a great time but as things happen all good things must end. On the way out, I run into a friend and that makes for a bit of an awkward moment but oh well, I am not worried as I had fun. We leave together and go our separate ways, but the awkward moment has occurred and so a kiss goodbye doesn't happen.
When I get to my car I sms an apology but also said I had a great time, which I did. The response back is somewhat I expected but there are several messages. Despite the awkward moment I still want to see her the following day and try to convey that.
My first sms the following day starts with "I apologize" and please give me a chance, as there is something about her that I like. I think she is fun.
Her response is no, which I respect and I stop messaging.
If she wants she can reach out to me, she can.
