For those of you that don't know.....Senior Sizzle disabled my profile, disabled this group page, and removed the post for the party information for July 26 because someone reported me for violation of the Term of Use.
This is the Term of Use quoted from the site that I have supposedly violated:
3. Non-Commercial Use by Members/Viewers:
This Passion.com site is for the personal use of individual members and viewers only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors. Organizations, companies, and/or businesses may not become members of this Passion.com site and shall not use the Passion.com service or site for any purpose including but not limited to: sending unsolicited commercial e-mail to members, sending advertisements for other web sites and services in this site's chat rooms, or using member personal identifying information for commercial purposes. Illegal and/or unauthorized uses of the site, including unauthorized framing of or linking to the site or the sending of unsolicited commercial email will be investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken, including without limitation, civil, criminal, and injunctive redress and/or termination of membership at Passion.com #39;s sole discretion. In order to prevent the sending of unsolicited commercial email or chat messages to its members, Various, Inc. may take reasonable steps, including the limiting of the numbers of emails or chat messages sent or received by a member and electronically filtering or throttling or terminating e-mail and chat messages at Various, Inc.'s sole discretion.
I want to post a rebuttal to everyone to ensure that it is VERY clear that we are not in this for commercial or profit reasons:
1. We host these Meet & Greets ONLY because Senior Sizzle members have requested hotel parties. It is a safer, less pressured way to meet Senior Sizzle members because you are not meeting one-on-one. Most of us already know each other, so we can very easily help keep an eye on any females that may need help. Would you rather set up a date with someone on here and then end up in your worse nightmare?
2. We do NOT send out unsolicited emails promoting these parties. I only respond to emails sent to us.
3. The only place I direct members to get more information is to this group page. Even though we do have pages outside of here that has the information, we do NOT violate the rule by posting outside web addresses.
4. We do have ocassionaly have commerical vendors onsite at the parties for members to browse, but ONLY if they so choose. It is not a requirement of attending by any means. We try to keep it to only Senior Sizzle members that have a hobby that they like to do that provides a service to our members that they MAY wish to partake in.
5. We are NOT in this to make any money. Anyone that has tried to rent a banquet room knows what kind of expense is involved. Keep in mind also that we provide snacks, sodas, ice, decorations, give aways, a DJ, buckets for drinks, name tags.....etc All I try to do is break even and there have been some parties that we did NOT and some that we did make a lil, but in the end accounting we are not making anything off these.
I am not giving up on this fight, I will continue to email and call Senior Sizzle regarding this issue and try to make them understand why most of their members request these parties and why they should allow their members to post party information. Yes, there are going to be true commercial clubs posting information, but I believe Senior Sizzle members and staff are intelligent enough to be able to determine the difference rather than ban everyone in general. I would like to request that any member that agrees or even disagrees with me, take 5 minutes to send your opinion to Senior Sizzle through the Help/contact link at the very bottom of every page. Maybe if they hear from enough of us, they will review and revise their Terms of Use.
