Second Month Observations
Second Month Observations The end of my second month on Senior Sizzle brings me to the conclusion that most people on here are paying for nothing. I even found myself in that situation. I had set up a meeting with another member. I was in my car, heading to our meeting location, when circumstances beyond my control forced me to cancel the meeting. The unfortunate thing about it, is that I was so caught up in my "circumstances" that I neglected to tell the person I was meeting. I felt like such a hypocrite. Here I am complaining about fakes and flakes, and I turn out to be one. Fortunately we never get promoted above human, so I sent an apology once I had gotten past my mental flagellation. It took a few days, but my intended meeting partner forgave me. We are set to meet again tonight. I won't flake on this encounter. This person sounds like a lot of fun. I will post about it later. Now that I have my flake card punched, I intend to take steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. In that same vein, I wish others would do the same. I know how it feels to expect a meet, get to the location and sit there like a fool when the person doesn't show up. It's happened to me a few times. I think Karma had its way with me for my arrogance and lack of tolerance. The biggest takeaway for me on this, is communication. My preference is to find out the person isn't coming, before the meeting. If that isn't possible, I expect the courtesy of an apology for missing the date. I realize that is a pipe dream, because I am still convinced that the majority of people this site are not interested in meeting at all. They enjoy the hunt and the catch, but didn't have any intention of eating the meat. Fortunately, I am not desperate for companionship. I can still take it in stride. However, i do reserve the right to bitch about it later on. |
