Sorry, dear reader, but events today mean I need to get something off my chest.
Earlier today I was informed that a 39 year old, absolutely beautiful soul and person, whom I've known for the better part of 25 years (not as a close friend, but known), has lost the battle against a thoroughly vicious form of breast cancer.
She was a light in the world, who fought for two years, knowing this bastard disease was going to kill her. She stayed positive, raising her two beautiful , trying new treatments (mainly because chemo was making her sicker rather than better - she developed a sort of allergy to it), never giving up, never asking for anything from anyone. A couple of her friends had to more or less twist her arm, so they could start a go-fund-me page so she could afford a new treatment in London in May.
I am just so angry and upset that such a lovely person is no more, and that two beautiful under 10 are without their mother.
It pisses me off, that a treatment that could potentially have given her more time isn't used in Denmark for her disease (they only use it to treat prostate-cancer), and that we had to find the money for her to go to London for treatment.
I hate cancer, and just want to (again) say FUCK CANCER!!!!

Thoughts during a thunderstorm

Seems the hot weather is finally breaking! Tonight we've had quite the thunderstorm, with rain, and what feels like cooler air.
And this has got thinking. a little bit rubbish at thunderstorms - I really don't like them. I can handle watching them, but not really comfortable. So a situation when I need someone to snuggle up to.... Preferably someone who could make me think of something else......
Are there other situations where having a man around could be nice/handy/fantastic? Well, aside from the obvious (when horny), I would say it would be nice to have a man to cuddle up to while watching a movie (either at home or at the cinema), a man to go to concerts or the theatre with, a man to cook for, a man to go on holiday with.....
Yup, I think I want a man in my life, not just to fool around with, but to share stuff with.
Question is (I suppose) whether or not in the right place here? Is it realistic to look for love on a sex-site? I aiming too high?
Ooooh! There's still a lightning-show on here....
(And tomorrow we are getting a storm, that carries my name....)

It's been summer in Denmark since May, we've hardly had a drop of rain since! I mean: looking at satellite photos from May and now, Denmark has become brown instead of green!
And while we needed some summer after last years' 8 days of summer, this is taking it a bit too far!
Hedgehogs are dying of thirst, the countryside is a powder-keg (we had a freighttrain set a good 10 kms of verge on fire a few weeks back - took 5 hours to put out!), and people are slowly melting! lucky enough not to work in uniform any longer, but it's still hot at work.....
My sex-life is not so hot.... It's been a year ..... Thank God for my vibrator.....

So, I'm back home after a week in Lanzarote,
Lovely weather (if a bit windy the past couple of days), great food, and pure relaxation.
So my reserves are again full, and I can do my job for the next 4 months until my next holiday.
Sex? Only with myself....

Ah, finally on holiday, and today I did ssom prep-work for my trip to Lanzarote: I got a Brazilian waxing. I prefere not to go totally smooth (let's face it: I'm not a 10-yo girl, I'm a 44-yo woman), so there's a remnant of bush still there on the mons, the rest is nice and smooth (if a bit sore - hadn't been waxed for 8 months)
So Friday I'm off to (hopefully) sunnier climes, and will get to soak up Vitamin-D for a week!

It is cold here in Denmark. Like REALLY cold. Right now it's -5°C, but with windchill it feels like -13°C (23°F and 9°F respectively). A fair bit of the country is also dealing with snow and whiteouts because of the wind - which apparently is coming all te way from Siberia.... BRRRRRRR......
So best time to be looking for a holiday somewhere nice, warm, and sunny. No sooner said than done, and I'll be off for a week to Lanzarote in a fortnight. Really need the vitamin D, and the warmth, and the relaxation......

So, Dear reader, a few weeks ago I told you how I got a new job within the company I work for. What I haven't shared with you is what has happened this month.
On January 4th we were told that the company needed to downsize - 100 positions would be gone on January 29th. My current job wouldn't be affected, and I didn't think I'd be 'in the running' as it were in my new job, because that doesn't start until February 1st. But 1½ weeks ago I got a phonecall from my new boss, to tell me that my new department could very well be part of it, and that I would be on the table just like my new colleagues. He was very insistent on telling me the company doesn't do 'Last in, first out', but that I would hear from him on the 29th.
This really pulled the rug out from under me, and after a couple of days I talked to my 'old' boss, asking him if they could do this (answer: yes, they can - it's a question of there being too many people working in the company), and if he could guide me as to how to react. (I might just inject here: he suggested I apply for the job, as he thought it would be a good fit for me). He came back to me with the good news, that his boss had OK'd it, that should I get the boot, I could withdraw my resignation, and stay in my current job. This gave me peace of mind - knowing I would still have a job, even though I was looking forward to the new one.
So today was the day, I didn't really sleep last night, and had an early start at work (as in: on a train at 5.30 am, at work at 6.45...) At 8.45 I got a text message from my new boss, that the people up for the sack had been informed, and my new job was still mine. I later got an e-mail, where he told us, that 2 people from the department had been cut. I talked to him when I was on my lunch break, just to organize my first day (on Thursday), and as he said: "The atmosphere might not be the best..."
So I'm really happy that I'll be in a new job, doing new stuff, earning more money, but on the flip side at least one person I know lost their job today, I'll be the 'new girl' in a department that has lost two 'old' people (so there might be resentment...).
Yup, up/down, round and round...

2017 in retrospect

So, dearest reader, time to look back on last year....
Number of men I had sex with: 2 - one of which was a definite one-nighter, who then ghosted me (I did a rather miffed post about it). The other a lovely guy, who I've been with a couple of times, but haven't seen in ages. He went down with stress, and only recently re-surfaced (somewhat, haven't seen him yet).
Hot and steamy messaging here (and elsewhere): quite a bit! Yes, have enjoyed myself with some online fantasy (although it's a pale comparison to the real deal). Well, a woman has to do what a woman has to do......
Good live music I've heard: LOT'S! I spent time in London last January, seeing a couple of concerts with the amazing a capella group Home Free (also caught a concert in Birmingham on the same trip), and then saw them in Denmark in May. At the end of August I went to the Tønder Festival, where I packed in as much music as possible over four days.
New job landed: One! Yup, landed myself a new job just before Christmas, which I'll be starting on February first. Same company, different job, better pay, more interesting assignments - can't wait!
Hopes for 2018: a more steady flow of sex (it's been about six months.......), perhaps a 'real' boyfriend..... More travel (know there's a trip to London with my niece in the works). A lot more music, too!
