Need a blog clue please

I can add blog posts, and they show up find under my profile, but they don't show up under Member Blogs (Community -> Blogs). I can scroll down the Recent Posts to the date and time of my blog post, but mine is just not there.
I found this on the help page, under Blog Advice.
Post your blog on public forums. The best way to reach a wider audience with your blog is by posting it on our numerous public discussion forums. Just pick which topics your post touches on, and whether it would be appealing to the members discussing that topic.
Is that what I'm not doing? But I see no way of doing that. When adding a post, there's no list of forums that pops up or anything.
It's probably something obvious, so please explain it like I'm four years old.
