I woke up this morning to the same sight I've seen for months. Its another cloudy, drizzly day. I was beginning to believe that the whole world, as well as the human race was put on hold....

I'm wrong.

Nature waits for no one. Her slow and steady pace keeps right on rolling along. What I believed to be her put on hold, is just me not recognizing her pace. Yes, the sun still comes up every day. The blossoms bloom, her creatures still go about their every day cycle. In all of our busy-ness, I had just failed to recognize it. So I stopped and took a closer look. Just outside my bedroom window I could now see it...

The cherry tree outside my window had now come to full bloom. Squirrels were padding their nests (damn, even the squirrels are getting more action than me lol) The tulips and other spring bulbs have either opened or finished their cycle. Nature is continuing to flourish and do what it always does.

Maybe all this is just nature telling us to smarten up. We haven't listened to her before. And now she just raised her voice.

Get your act together!!!

All around the world, signs are popping up that if only we stop and see, we are arrogantly pissing her off. Since this world wide halt has begun, the air has become demonstratively cleaner. India can see mountains from afar that haven't been seen in a generation. Maybe now we can see our folly. We are just a blip in nature's whole life. A mosquito who came in for a bite. Its time we smartened up before she brushes us off the face of her planet...

A Duck walks into a bar...

He sits on a bar stool the bartender comes over.
"What would you like?"
"Got any grapes?"
"No" says the bartender and the duck leaves

The next day the duck comes back..
"Got any Grapes?"
"I told you yesterday, NO!" So the duck leaves.

The next day the duck comes back...
The bartener says " Look duck, if you ask me about grapes again, I'm going to nail your beak to the bar!"

"Got any nails?"
"Well, no.."

"Great! Got any grapes?"

oh man.....

As a Canadian moving through the seasons, there's a ritual I go through twice a year...

Flannel Sheets.

As the days get warmer, those comfy soft sheets start lose their appeal. With Spring upon us, I know its time put away that winter comfort. I was close today to doing just that. But I went for a drive, and as I was coming home over the Skyway, I ran into a burst of snow! Who would have thought in the middle of April in Southern Ontario we'd be still in the grips of winter!.

Yeah I know, every Canadian....

I stripped the bed, folded my Hudson's Bay Trapper Point blanket, and tossed my flannel sheets in the laundry. I'll force spring by changing out to the summer linen! But when I pulled those comfy flannel sheets out of the dryer, I could feel their warmth and retained heat from the dryer. The cloth felt so fresh and secure.....

One more week... what will it hurt....

Tonight I'll crack the window open just a bit and breathe that cool fresh air. And I'll be secure and content wrapped in my fluffy flannel sheets

Ten days ago I chose to venture out of my isolation. At that point I had been home for two weeks. I met the commitment after returning from the USA so i went in search of early signs of spring. One of the areas (and one of my favorites) is Niagara-on-the-Lake. I grew up in NOTL so I know it well. My childhood memories of the town is a sleepy village with a wading pool right in the middle, Though by the 80's it started to become the tourist mecca it is now. Normally I'd avoid it but in my search for spring it was right on my travels.

What a bizarre experience....

I have never seen this town as quiet as that day. Normally you would hunt for a parking spot, but that day, the cannons at Fort George could have fired and no one would know. Seeing that really put the this whole quarantine into perspective.

Sometime I wonder if we will ever wake from this dream.

Thunderstorms...

Its been years since I've sat through a really good thunderstorm. This time of the year, we should be having them weekly. I don't know what's changed but they seem to have become scarce. You know the type. The ones where you can feel the electricity in the air. You smell that dampness, feel it in your skin. The sun is getting low in the horizon and the cloud front rolls across. In the distance you hear the rolling thunder as it gets closer. the wind picks up. The temperature drops. Flashes start to appear on the horizon, so you start to search for cover from the rain.

The bright flash comes. You see it! You know its struck somewhere close by! the hair on the back of you neck stands up as you wait those few seconds for the crack you know is coming. The thunder rolls across you and you feel the vibrations in the air and the ground.....

oh man!!

As that wave passes, next comes the torrential rain. If you're caught outside, you know it's going to soak right through to the skin. You watch as the waves of rain wash across the street, turning those pathways into rivers. The temperature continues to drop and that electric feeling turns to shivers..

I miss those.

Its weird thinking as I'm cooped up in my condo, waiting to be able to resume life again, that I'm thinking of my next vacation. Yes , I would love to go to a place with lots of hot sun, but I want to feel the force of a tropical monsoon rain.

Am I weird?

Lets see...

I have admit. I'm seeing lots of activity this site. Compared years ago, I'm getting lots of flirts and views of my profile. Cool!!!

One thing I find strange. I see lots of activity from over North America. I swear when I look at the "distance" indicator, I have to check whether its kilometers or a zip code.... Seriously, I don't think I'll be driving thousands of klicks let alone stuffing these bones into a giant tin sausage and flying anywhere during these times...

Though I have to admit, there's one person I'd travel multiple hours to meet. No, not for sex (I'm pretty sure it'd be awesome though) Just to meet..

Stormy Daniels

Anyone who can lay claim to spanking the current President with a rolled magazine is someone who I can truly admire. The whole world I'm sure would love to just say "Thank you"

And would you please do it again!

Alright... I went for a drive this morning. I had get out of the condo. These days of waiting get back work is tough. Not having our every day dalliances like heading to the bar for a nice beer and conversation is hell!.

So I snuck out....

Ok, not really "snuck" no one is stopping . But I do feel guilty in these social distancing days when I venture out. Then again what better way than putting a few car lengths between you and the next guy

I hear an ad on the radio. We've all heard it. "The little blue pill has come off patent" Now we can all have the joyous benefits of morning wood any time we want!. And just visit this site and a generic doctor will prescribe for you these wondrous pills that will turn you into the Hedgehog anytime you want.

Even better, they will send you a whole month's supply for just thirty bucks!

Wow! a months supply?? For just the price of 2 packs of smokes? What a great deal?

So lets see.. Its been 2 years since I last had a roll in the hay, so thirty bucks divided by zero is.....

oh crap..............................

ah well....

It's been a long time since I've been here. I tried re-activate my old profile. Sadly its vanished for good. Maybe that's for the best. I'm not exactly the same guy I was. Lots of water has passed under the bridge.
- have all grown up
- Divorced, (she's still one of my closest friends. Yes it can happen
- Sold my house. I have a "Deeelux condo in the sky" now...
- Sold my business! Had enough of managing other peoples lives. I found it way nerve wracking be responsible for other people's welfare. Heck I have enough trouble with my own!
- Been working around the other side of the border. Maryland, New York, and finally found the right spot in Michigan. yes I still keep my home in Niagara. It will always be home here. though I may be gone during the wee..
- Sold my bike. Yeah that hurt. but the last year I had it I put miles on it. For some reason I found myself getting more and more nervous on the road. Maybe its me getting old, maybe its me fearing my own mortality. Or maybe I just beat the inevitable..

Ok, I'm rambling now. I'll try this time keep putting my words here. What better way for someone get know than reading my thoughts.
(Not those.. those are for later
