Single Sentimental Sap!!!!

For the next four months or so, I will be what I can not stand the rest of the year, a nostalgic, reflective, emotional, appreciative glop of love. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that will start my parade of sentimentality.

Since I am single and I'm out of town working, I expect to spend it alone. I will still cook too much food and toward the end of the night pull out some of the stuff I will need for Christmas. I don't rush the holidays, meaning no signs of Christmas until after Thanksgiving and Christmas has to disappear before the new year.

Anyway, I will be playing my favorite music, which of course, will bring back memories of people of my past. "Can't Get You Out of My Head" will bring back the sweetest, straight male stripper I ever knew. Lil Kim's "How Many Licks" will bring back the sexiest mother f#cker I have ever laid eyes on. And the original "Endless Love" will take me back to when my sister and I use to perform it in talent shows. And then I will bring out a couple of homemade cassettes, which always have songs you forgot about and bring on memories you haven't thought about in ages.

And of course, my favorite people will come to me as I share with the Man above the blessings I'm grateful for. All the people I can't be with in Kansas City or Indianapolis, my two homes. My three late husbands, now angels in heaven. My two gay "dads", my lifers, my best friend and his other half, and of course, being the gay man I am, some of the best lovers and one night stands I've had, as well as guys I'm currently crushing on. How can you not be a soft-ie with all that going through your head?

So Indy and KC, if you are reading this and certain things I've mentioned strike you, just know I'm thinking about, missing and loving you in some way, shape, form or fashion!
