My Pain

My eyes are clouded
by bitter tears of
pain and sadness.

My heart is broken
upon the sharp rocks
of misery and longing.

My soul cries crushed
by the heaviness of
my burdens.

And all hope has fled
away as life's sharp
knife plunges deeply
into my soft, defenseless flesh.
