First Blog and First month on AFF


My first month on Senior Sizzle has been fun, but not as fun as I would like. I'm not sure what I expected, but I feel slightly disappointed. I have made a couple of friends but have yet to meet anyone in person. Several people have indicated that they want to meet, will meet, and in one case, on the way to meet. Unfortunately, nothing has panned out at this point. I wonder if people are playing or get scared and back out at the last second because they secretly want to be wanted but don't want to follow through on anything.

I'm not desperate to meet anyone, so it's not that big of a deal. However, it is frustrating when I cancel plans to meet someone and back out at the last minute, or worse, don't show up at all. Then I've lost my original plans and the planned meeting.

I do my best to make sure anyone I meet is comfortable with it before the meeting. I am always willing to meet in a public place. I'm happy to share most of my information with the person. I will gladly show my ID, so the person knows I am who I say I am. I won't give them my address or other personal information until I know them, but I will share enough to prove I'm not a nut job.

I'm sure I will eventually meet real people. It just hasn't happened yet, so I remain hopeful. I have had fun, though, 's exciting to get a from someone and striking up a conversation over email or . People are less reserved online than in person.

There seems to be a lot more to this site than searching for people I fully intend to explore. I haven't made up my mind about paying to let non-gold members contact me. If the gold members are this flaky, I'd be surprised to find someone with no skin in the game at all to follow, though.
