None of the above.. I will respond to anyone as long as they're friendly and respectful. I'm not sure verified means anything on here.. a lot of the fake women are "verified"

"Verified" status only lasts about a year, at least that's how long my verification lasted. Gold members have that added privilege of being able to view and respond to any other profile, so long as those other members don't have theirs turned off. Yes, I'm encountered some guys who had their profiles turned off, yet were gold members and still able to contact me, though I couldn't respond to them. You're more or less in "incognito mode" if your profile is turned off.

Being gold members, however, doesn't 100% guarantee that the person isn't a hacker or a scammer. If you're observant enough in messages/emails/texts, someone who's a scammer will eventually give themselves away. Patience is the key. There are also image search sites (like tin eye for one) that are good at spotting spoofed pictures, which is enough for your average schmoe to ask pertinent questions about the validity of a person.

I agree with the other two ladies in how I respond. Don't be an asshat, pay attention to what's in their profile, ask questions, and you just might get a good talk going for starters.
