Falling Apart !! !! when you and your favorite co-worker can see everything falling apart at work but you don't get paid enough actually do anything about it.   |

Of course a lot us could not "see everything falling apart work" if we wanted to, because for the past 11 months we have been telecommuting from hamster cages we once knew as our homes. In addition to struggling to find motivation to work even 50% of previous efforts, we are fumbling through de minimis personal hygiene rituals in futile hopes of looking sober (even if we aren't) while we cringe through yet another Zoom meeting. Seriously, as someone who has met nearly 700 payrolls, my firm's viability relies as much upon feedback from staff on what we are doing wrong as what we are doing right. Interestingly, I have seen organizations filled with highly-compensated professionals that are as indifferent to dysfunction as Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are in your meme. And I have also seen low-paid blue-collar employees operate as seamlessly as a surgical team. It really comes down to workplace culture. It sounds like your workplace culture could use an overhaul. I hope it gets better after everyone is vaccinated.
