Blaze

~Life looks like a white desert, a blaze of today in which nothing distinct can be made out, seen.
—Marvin Bell, "1. About the dead man", Gift of Tongues

Blaze
written May 2nd, 2021

I long to blaze
to be white hot fire
burning fiercely
without limit or restraint

take as kindling
all these collected seconds of tedium
the moments of curling into myself in pain
the flares of white hot passion
the kisses of comfort on the forehead

spark my soul
start the fire
watch me blaze so bright
you have to look away

wait until the coals cool
so you can sift through
the ashes that were me
looking for treasure

I am no longer there.
I have moved on and am
collecting the kindling
for the next
glorious
blaze.

I fall in love with words. Blaze! Maybe you can feel it. Or maybe you feel what the word means to you. I also love that word glorious. I know the word "blaze" can mean other things, but here it just means to burn brightly. Thank you for reading me!

That was awesome

The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

It is interesting how our most important actions are made of a collection of inactions...

I truly enjoyed this write and delving in to the work of the late Marvin Bell.

Long ago... Circa HS... I came up with this thing called "the incinerating soul", which states that no matter what I experienced, good or bad, light or dark, I would transform the thing into fuel for my inner fire. I burned clean I will tell you... Smiles and Cries but pure energy and pure creation. It was quite wonderful to be alive, in such a manner. That is sort of the impression I get in reading this. Just so beautiful. And the closing stanza is like High Communication in a language of Amaze.

In regard to the incinerating soul. I recently learned that this Roman General had the exact same idea! It was beautiful confirmation of the rightness of my path, I think... And perhaps confirmation of the rightness of your path as well.
