Just a sounding board.....grrrrr

For those of you who don't know, this time of year is the anniversary of my parents death. It is extremely hard for me at times, being I wonder sometimes if I am a good of woman as I can be with my parents passing away when I was very young. No I am not asking for pity, just some understanding in the way I am sometimes. The Lord knows that I have gotten better. And yea I do tend to go overboard on something, but I tend to wear my heart on my sleeves at times.

Then today, think I fucked up a very good friendship, one that I was hoping would of led to alot more, who knows it still might. Not sure what I did wrong, just got that oh geez feeling, Kim, you did it this time. But dayum it....I care about my friends...so dayum SUE me...lol....I overlook my happiness...in hopes that their life will be or get better.

Thinking I will return to my cynical ways......

Are you asking if you learned everything you need to know to be a good person in the short time you had your parents with you? I think the answer there is that you will never learn enough to meet your very high expectations, and anyway, its not a matter of what would have been, as much as what do you do with what you have?

The good news is, you apparently learned enough from your parents to be worried if you treat your friends well... and I think an awareness that you perhaps could do better is a good start.

I know that with me, I sweat those things, too... and the biggest mistake I make is being too timid because I am afraid of hurting people's feelings, or of being rejected. What I need to remember is that I do my best to keep my heart pure, and follow my first instinct, rather than the second, whose sentences always start with 'What if...'.
