I usually by generic as well, they work about as good and are a lot cheaper. Please don't let me be misunderstood.

Generic brand ones usually work out best in the long run. Duracells used to guarantee they wouldn't leak so if you have a particularly meaningful device, then it might be wise to use them in that. Or go down the rechargeable route. Sure the charger might cost you the same as a couple of packs of new batteries but they should easily last 10x as long before they'll no longer hold a decent charge and need to be replaced.

The age old question, although mouse batteries are usually not the piece of equipment being enquired about. I still use a cheap wired mouse and never worry. Sending hugs and good luck.
