fact or fiction
fact or fiction When I write a blog, I write stories. But I also write about my life. Yes, they are also stories but they are true and so the facts are the facts, not meant to be more or less than that. It’s easy to tell the difference. I write in the first person if the story is about me, in the third person if the blog is fiction. I am clarifying this so that readers may understand the difference between the two and draw from that the writer’s intent. Thanks. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

I thought it important to make this clear. is everything about me?, or nothing ? the truth is, as a writer, I suppose in some way, everything IS but only some of my stories relate directly to my actual life. clear as mud, right? You cannot conceive the many without the one.

And there I was thinking that most people here do that. The great mix called real life and facts, and real minds and fantasies. Or both interwined. From mother googles own dictionary ...... "as with most traditions, fact and fiction have become inextricably intertwined" So the fiction version of this blog post would be.....When she wrote her blog, she used both facts and fantasy in her posts. Some facts from her own life and some thoughts of her own mind, it was easy to tell, even to the untrained eye. But she just wanted to be clear about that. So the readers would read from the same page. Her page. What do you think? Did I ger it ?

I hope no one harangued or guilted you into having to offer an explanation. Everything we right is part fact and part fiction. Fact because it comes from us, fiction, because life is like Rashomon, every tale has different narratives depending on who is telling the tale.

Well I guess that is as clear as you need to get. I dunno, I don't think I felt the need to know any more than I already did. Thank you and keep writing. I have a similar problem with my poetry. . Some poems are about me and my feelings and experiences, and others aren't. But there's no way to really tell, because even when they aren't, I'm trying to write them from the perspective of the *fictional* person who it's about. But I really don't think it's that important which way they think, as long as they *understood* the poem's message.

Some of my stories are true and some might be embellished somewhat and some are outright lies, and I'm not telling the which is which. I do try to tell my own stories late in the day though. First liar don't stand a chance. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.
