Good advice. Sometimes I don't even trust myself.

Very useful post McRose, thank you! I've been on the wrong end of this kind of thing though not to the point where I was traced to my front door. I was completely naive to think that people here would be fundamentally genuine. The two who did trace me gained my confidence before doing so, fortunately they were both okay people, just nosey more than anything else. I learned that lesson quickly. The one who tried to blackmail me never got close enough to succeed and I would have had no hesitation in taking it to the police. I'm not one for confusing caution with cynicism. As I said, great post, ta!

Good reminder and set of cautionary points. I use an email especially for this site, and I don't give it out right away. I have to say that some of the women I chat with are actually here to establish a business relationship. Nothing wrong with that, but this is not the place-- it is "friend finder" not "pro finder" -- though I'm guessing they do a decent business late at night with men who are horny and buzzed. I like the concept that applies in nuclear arms reduction treaties: "Trust but verify." You have to trust to make any progress, but you also need to establish basic facts and verify them. Even so, one of the things that I find arousing about Senior Sizzle connections is some level of anonymity -- hooking up and having a relatively pure sexual experience without hangups or some of the other cultural aspects and expectations that accompany vanilla dating. It sometimes leads to a deeper connection, and sometimes not. All this being said, there are many good people on this site, with good intentions. (But it would help if more of them would read profiles and pay attention!)

Sounds like Bryan Mills at work here. Thoughts from the Garden...
