AFF Blogs Mobile ?

How many of you use mobile phones to access this site ? I was just wondering. Myself, for years and years never trusted mobile phones on the internet other than accessing Google Maps while out and about in the motor home. I am so aware of systems and code, that I see them as so easy to hack. Example, while out in public I can find someone's phone with mine and make it do things like blair out obcenities real loud, not stop ringing at full volume and so forth (the list goes on and on, like I can read your text messages etc.. while we are within the same bluetooth range or on the same wifi network). But that was with my old android platform phone from 2013. I trust phones more since updating to newer phones in July of this year. No I never sat and played games on my new phone, I explored the new technology and security within new versions for hours and hours (ok days and days, weeks and weeks). Basically still not done but I will say that the new versions of android are more secure so I am trusting internet use of phones more these days. One place that I won't trust that went bye-bye right away was the facey place and their messenger apps from my phone. No way will I use those invading places on mobile. Bad enough what I see going through my pc's from that social media place.... audience based add sharing not only allowing you data to be shared and uploaded from 80 plus places but also thrid party ads places from 80 plus pplaces on your friends devices that facebook allows your data to be downloded form as 3rd party advertizers... wudda scam mess that is just on pc even if you go through and block all the places or not allow them to upload you to lists. They constantly add more and more so you are constantly going through hundreds of places a day in the ad settings disallowing new places that were added to access your data and SHARED yet... facebook is a huge thrid party scammer and selling you out
Anyway since I wandered off topic, conversation with a friend led me to look at Senior Sizzle on mobile... oofta what a trip. I would never open the site while in a public place with my phone just because if anyone viewed my screen from the side and what they would see ! lol. What I was looking for on the mobile version was access to the blogs where I found no way to access them without switching over to the web page version. The mobile version is simply a dating/hookup site with no way to access the blogs or community. I did see 'chat rooms' but that is about it. Many of you are laughing about now because you do access Senior Sizzle's blogs via mobile but it was a new experience for me. I now see why they want to change the blog format, so the blogs will be mobile friendly ? From what I can tell by their little test lately where the format here changed, I understand the objective that they are trying to do. At least blogs were accessable in one manner without going to the web version of the site with that new version that they tried a few weeks back. Still I don't understand how hard it is to roll over the 'community' dropdown to make it mobile friendly and just plain old add it to the front page of the mobile version of the site and be done with it. Web version of the blogs even as they are shouldn't be that tough to add to the mobile version without having to go to the web version to access them is it ?
I hope they get it right without wiping everything out that users have posted on here for years and years or not exposing private photos and posts over the years ! LOL should we pray ?

On another note, I will share something that a friend of mine posted over at another place because it made me laugh

She captioned it "yah...you left it at my place...last time when you used it...uh huh..."
I replied to her " Does his need batteries ", asking for a friend"
♫ apology no song lyric at the moment ♫

So do you use mobile to access this place ?

Yesterday took 3 hours for a post to come up in the feed... replies just as long, will it beat that time ?

Personally, I use Google Voice to screen my phone. Google Voice gives you a number that isn't the same as your phone number but you can forward texts or calls from the Google Voice number to your cell phone. What is nice about Google Voice is that I can make calls with my laptop through the number that they assign me. I have had other people tell me of apps like it but they have issues with calls being dropped or not being able to hear th eperson on th eother end of a call, even with the app being used on a cell phone to mask their cell number. I have had zero issues with Google Voice like they experience. There are very very few people out there that know my real cell phone number. Most know my Google Voice number
Thanks for reading my ramble, I checked the mobile version of this site after the chat. It might be ok for some but not for me. I will stick to the blogs via pc instead of mobile

I have internet access turned off on my phone - except for rare (I think I missed my turn) moments.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

That's a very detailed blog for a relatively simple question!! No, you can't access the blogs on the mobile site, you have to use the full web version. Also as a standard member I can read messages on the web version but not on the mobile version, it ask's me to pay to read them!
There are a few things that one will do and the other won't so i tend to use the mobile just to see if i have any messages, then my laptop to read the blogs
Also with the mobile, it logs you into chat, which was really annoying,, and now it does it with the web version which is REALLY annoying

I use my phone almost 100% of the time on A F F; it's a recent model with all the bells and whistles. I've been in the IT industry for decades and have equipped every one of my devices with the privacy and security features that are available. I've never had an issue, nor am I concerned about any of the fears about phones. It's a question of educating oneself on how to eradicate all the risks. 👍 (*yeah, I'm sure I have all the bases covered. *)

True, the blogs, currently, have to be accessed through the desktop version, but I'm okay with that; it's seamless and a breeze for me to post or read anything.

That NEW blog page will make it easier for cell phone access to the Blog Community, and I understand THEIR — the site's — goals. But the way it is now, before incorporating improvements — it's a total cluster!

It will undoubtedly be a real challenge to transfer all the features we're used to, into the NEW Blog Land. We'll have to hope for the best and see how things work out. 😎❗❗

Ya think they have a handle on things? 🤔
Ooops... 😮

Very smart !! Another thing you should do hun is keep the bluetooth turned off while out in public. Over and beyond that, I personally borrowed some code from 'peerblock' that I run on my pc's. Changed it a little so I could identify devices that are trying to access my phone from any source. This phone plan that I have through Cricket is an unlimited data plan. So I will watch movies while on the highway. I was surprised at trucks that I get near on the highway have been hacked and when you get near them that hack tries to get data from my phone... technology and hackers these days are insane but I have caught quite a few and sent them a surprise in return. one of those 'shut down their processor' type surprises lol two can play at that game.

No...i dont access the site thru my phone. MY phone is used as a phone...not a computer. Which is why i wont pay the crazy dollars that some pay who do use their phone as a puter. I have a laptop and a tablet. If i am here , its on the laptop...its bigger screen and keyboard are ideal for reading and typing. Talking n texting is for the phone. Web surfing . email is on the laptop......and the tablet is portable for reading and such. It would take much effort to type from my phone...and since i am in the chatrooms, i would lose most of the conversation due to my typing a response. lol

I do all the time. The only time I use the laptop is when my phone is charging.

The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

Oh for sure... I think the same way, phone is for phone and laptop is for laptop. That is one thing that I have never owned so far is a tablet. I have used them in the past but never purchased one. As far as typing on the phone, I do admit that I have been getting lazy lately and using the mic to convert to text. Drawbacks to that though are it will not punctuate text to show any emotion so that emphesis isn't relayed, also lots of times using the mic to convert to text it will get words completely wrong and I will need to go back and edit what it posted before I send the message. I have ran across younger people that swear by using mic to chat convert, well I have sworn by it alright. Pissed me off many times haha. like I mentioned earlier, I will need to mess with the site a little more on my cell phone

Cool ! I am still warming up to the internet on phones. I had bad invaders in my cell phone over the internet, say back in around 2013. I had a Galaxi S3 mini back then and the any internet connection was like the wild wild west ans someone popping into your stagecoach ! lol. I still will never go on the facey place with a phone, no way with all their 3rd party people that can access your device plus how they allow other peoples 3rd party advertizers on their phone to access your data. I just don't trust that place yet for a phone. I will try using it on this site more though. Thanks for chiming in, my friend

I agree. Desktop. If I access it via phone, then the writing is so small. When I enlage or zoom the screen, while moving the page around to read it on the phone I end up clicking on things that I dont want to

Uh... your comment to someone else caught my eye: you're using 'PeerBlock' for your phone, and can — 'shut down their processor'?
Now THAT'S kool!
Care to elaborate on how one can activate THAT feature or where I'd go to learn more about such trickery? lol 😂 ❗❗😎👍
Is it part of 'PeerBlock's' standard options or is it an ad-on — something YOU created? 🤔

By the way, there seems to be some reticence to use 'the cell' as a replacement PC, amongst some people and I don't understand why. As you've indicated, with 'voice-type', the cloud, and so many other tools available, heck, my silly cell phone 📱 can comfortably power ANY small city in Africa. lol 😂 😮 ❗❗

Well, perhaps not — but you know what I mean. 😎

How long you been doing computers ? LOL you could save Texas with your phone from their power grids shutting down. I learned computers back in the late 70's and kept up on it all over the years. You mean you have never monitored who is accessing your device ? Peerblock (Peerguard for linux) is a good start but I changed it. I don't need to run the addresses up against their database. You never traced an ip to get the device mac addy ? Ever fooled bluetooth or accessed someone's wifi ? Printer ports on peoples computers can be so much fun. Nah I will never replace a pc with a cell phone lol. I picked up the processor thingy quite a while ago from a laptop of mine that got hacked. That was an interesting file find. I traced it's origin back to Belgium. Interesting how they did it once you break it down. I don't troll or hack but have the knowledge to. I have no need to. I will leave it at that. Take it easy man.... Learn what you can and beyond

I picked up this Galaxi A01 for $50. Just to get used to using the unlimited data. I might upgrade in the future but it is good enough for now. I kind of was leary because it has an internal battery but figure oh well if it fails. Instead of replacing the battery for boo-koo bucks that I will just buy another phone if it dies. So far so good. Still, the plan is cheaper than my old plan with limited data. the cheap phone has paid for itself already

Lol 😂... You're MILES ahead of me.

I SELL the infrastructure, but I can't compete with a techy. I CAN bottom-line the expected results for a client, and that's what they want. I smile when THEY (my IT grunts) suggest a solution that works for a customer. 😊

Just another quasi-ignorant user, happy that his IT whizz kids know their stuff. 😎 👍

I've never been hacked, although some have tried. My firewalls and other programs have blocked attacks. And I'm never on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi in public spaces —my data plan is robust — I've no need for that 'free' service service at Mickey Dee's.

I'll mess around and inform myself; thanks for the push in the right direction. Based on how you describe your experiences — I doubt I'll ever use the knowledge you've accumulated nor attain your level of expertise. 👍😎❗❗

And you're right, the phone will never replace my PC. But my phone fits in my pocket, my desktop doesn't! 👍

yeah, lucky you have IT for backup. I am still warming up to using my phone on the internet and unlimited data. I like your thinking about phone fitting in th epocket and laptop doesnt. I find myself using mine more and more on the internet but am watchful. They teach youths early these days, there is even games out there designed to get kids into building apps or games. They are starting that version of coding in their early years. Gotta be watchful as we move into the future because of knowledge and technology
