Arbery murder trial guilty verdict! All three men found guilty of murder! Hallelujah! Justice prevails. A joyous celebration on this Thanksgiving Eve. Truly something be thankful. |

I just have to wonder though if one reason they were found guilty was because there would be hell to pay if they weren't. Please don't let me be misunderstood.

Not trying to speak to this verdict in the specifics as I don't know anything about the case but I find it very telling that a verdict that finds a defendant to be guilty or innocent in accordance with the evidence when the evidence is clear shouldn't have to be celebrated but routine and when there is no substantial evidence to proscute and what is used is misrepresented to the defense that's more than a cause for serious outrage It indicates a taint of corruption indicating justice has no place in what amounts to a gambling system that serves to attack those who oppose the political agendas of whoever the prosecuting attorney happens to be while refraining to proscute crimes committed by those in solidarity with the da's agenda Residing in the Pacific northleft I've been witness to examples of some of the results of such extreme partisan politics and what comes of treating such matters as analogous to sporting competitions where emotion is stoked for the big rivalry match up and fosters an notion that "My team is winning" is a valid statement it regards to the political arena where at the end of the day a difference of opinion doesn't change the fact that We're still on the same team no matter how heated the debate and it's probably a good idea to remember do unto others in Your politics both in what You advocate lest one day You find that trying to use the governments use of violence to force others to submit to what You advocate will one day see roles reversed should government be normalized to such misuse and abuse which is why you must account for the principal and not just the issue because if You advocate censorship when You disagree with what's being stated Your advocating for Your own silencing should You ever descent from the majority view which will soon become the governmental right think with descent a criminal offense and why a justice system that finds individuals guilty of a crime that is in contradiction of the evidence or proscutes individuals without evidence to base a case on and that inspires celebration when it manages to reach a proper verdict is critically problematic because someday You may find You have drawn the attention of prominent people and may find Yourself subject to Our system of justice and that's no good timing to begin advocating for a just justice system fwiw Not much, You?
