You all know that smell, when you've left the popcorn in the microwave too long and the whole bag is burnt to a crisp. That's what the neighborhood smelled like yesterday. I was out doing my rounds cleaning the yards and that was all you could smell in the air. I figured some late night third shift tenant had burnt a bag and tossed it out on to their back porch. Funny thing is the smell lingered too log for that to be the case. By the time I was done with my outside work the smell had gotten stronger if anything. I never did find out where the smell was coming from. Near as I could figure the tire place up the road that heats it's garage with a wood burning stove was the cause of the odor. Thinking the guys who work there were burning corn cobs or something instead of their usual old wooden pallets? Those guys will burn anything to keep their shop warm.

The next door neighbor to me will be moving out, well eventually. Seems her daughter and the daughter's BF, will be moving in with her and they'll be taking one of the up graded units. I say will as there are no up graded units left to rent, and won't be any to rent until the two we have been working on are finished being up graded. That will be a while I'm assuming. Seeing how were still just in the demo phase so far. So she may be into one by the end of March.

They're cracking down on the smoking around here, have to post notices today at one building on all the doors and in the stairwell lobby. No more smoking in the building...yeah like that is going to happen. There is no real way to enforce the rule. Not like we can go into the units and bust the tenants in the act of smoking in their own apartments. It being so cold outside people don't want to head out onto the back porch to light up. It's even kind of dangerous as well, given the monster icicles hanging off the roof eaves and porch decks. Hell we can't even get them to stop B.B.Qing on the back porches let alone stop them from smoking. Like i said no real way to stop it.

Any who, I'm off to shower now....

I once worked as Security in a Hospital . The Guards would rotate each night as All stairwells were to be checked nightly ! It was not Unusual to find Cigarette Butts in the stairwell !! I think it was a bit of Paranoia , but Hospital Admin. had a Standard Report Form and requested a nightly report of Butts found with Stairwell number and Floor number !! The allowed Standard for Guests & Employees was Outside, on a Specific Street Corner which was OFF Property ;They even supplied a Smoking Post for Butts !!

No Butts about it the hospital had a problem. At least I don't have to fill out paper work if I find butts anywhere. Hell I'd spend half of my day just filling out paper work I did.

Burned popcorn is an awful smell. I can't imagine the whole area stinking with it. Ugh!
