What with the salt and slush coming in from the outside. I'll have to spend extra time today trying to get all that muck up. Which usually means mopping twice. Nothing to do yesterday aside from shovel, had to do the entire complex by myself and it took me two hours. Then for shits and giggles I went above and beyond, clearing paths in the court yards from one street to the the other. That took another two hours. Then started my usual daily work. Fun stuff...not. But it beats twiddling my thumbs.

Why the lull in work. Easy, no one moving out till the end of the month. Units that need finishing but I can't get into them because they are awaiting paint jobs, or have major maintenance concerns that need done before I can do my work. The PM asked me yesterday if I wanted to pitch in on a gift for the owner and his wife? I don't know? It's hard to say no and not look like an ass. Then again, to pitch in and not even be thanked for the gift is like being snubbed. As in last year when all the thanks went to the PM and her husband at the Christmas party. There will be no party this year because of Covid. I found out after last years party that the reason they even had one was to sway some new investors, the employees were asked to come only as an after thought. I don't know maybe it's just me and how I look at things? But if I'm asked to do something, go some place I feel that it's because the person, or persons really want me to be there. Not because they think because it's the season of "Good will to all men" So, lets ask the little guys to come as well.

Alright I'm just tired, sore, and cranky...pardon my Grinch like attitude people. I'm feeling bummed the boys can't make it home this year and Christmas won't feel the same without them around. Too much time on my hands to think, time that if it wasn't for this virus thing I could be spending with them along with their sister as they would have normally been home by now. ... I guess that's why the call it the blues?

Any who..time for me to hit the showers and go to work..I got floors that need mopping....

I understand the blues missing kids. It is tough.

I don't think you're being a grinch. I'm not fond of the lowly worker bees buying the fat cat a gift. I personally think it should be the other way round. Hopefully you get a fat bonus each year.
