I'll be going shopping after work to pick up the items I need for my Christmas day dinner menu. I plan on picking up a spiral sliced ham. I hate carving anything, when I do carve it always ends up looking like a kid who's given him/her self a hair cut. The usual sides will be there as well. Potato's, mashed and candied sweet, green beans, and perhaps a nice salad with rolls to round out the meal.

I am debating on making a glaze for the ham, or doing a country style red eyed ham gravy. Tradition dictates a gravy, but this year I've got ham glaze on the brain. A honey mustard one at that. I suppose I could use a pineapple jam as a base for the glaze, giving a nod to the traditional way I usually cook the ham. That does sound mighty tasty in fact. I'll talk it over with the daughter when we do the shopping tonight. Though I suspect she'll want the traditional style.

I still have to wrap the grands presents..I needed scotch tape didn't have any to do the job, and duct tape although comes in many colors now just didn't seem right to do the job. I'll get to the gift wrapping tomorrow after work I expect.

Hard to believe that next week is Christmas week. The month is going by so fast it seems. The year itself seems to flown by really, and 2020 is almost over. I expect most of us won't be sorry to see this year pass into history. We will be sorry for those who left us too early I expect. Hopefully when we issue in 2021 we can put our troubles of 2020 behind us and move forward into a new and brighter day.

Any who, off to shower now....

I have a strong feeling that between COVID & the ongoing Political BS, there is not going too be any real change in 2021 for sometime yet

I have actually made a glaze and gravy when the family was divided. The ham had to cook naked which I think detracted from the deliciousness. It did allow everyone to choose their favorite topping.

Cooking naked huh? Now that brings some great images to mind. Then again it's always been a turn on for me to see a woman working in the kitchen. Why? I have no idea. Got to the point where the ex wife wouldn't do the dishes anymore because I'd always interrupt her if you follow.... I could do it both ways ( glaze and gravy ) I guess? But it seems like a bit too much work. With the way this past year has been I feel like I need to change up some of the traditions. Give it a fresh start as it were. You know? Have a good one Pony!
