I went to bed at twelve last night, way too late for me by the way. When I turned the TV off Biden was a head. The workers at my local court house had gone home for the evening at eleven still with over more than half of the mail in ballots left uncounted. ( Saw that on the news when the local channel broke in for their up date ) I don't blame them, they had a tough job yesterday. Started counting the ballots when our polls opened at seven AM.

As for me I went and voted at lunch time yesterday. The two block walk to my polling place was a nice change of pace from my normal work day. The weather was getting warmer, the sun was shining through the clouds, and best of all no Trump campaign sines along the way. Well, there was one. One lone sign tucked away up behind some bushes at one home. There were some more signs at my polling place, but those were surely put there the last minutes by the republican party members here in town to help sway any votes that came in yesterday. I say that because my polling place is God's house ( a church ) and as far as I know God doesn't vote ,or back any candidates.

As for getting in to vote, well that couldn't have been easier. No lines at all, another guy walking in a head of me, and a poll worker following behind after I went in. ( He'd been out catching a smoke break ) I went down the steps to the basement, walked in to the Cafeteria where the polls were set up told them my name, signed the book (like always ) went to a table after getting my ballot, filled it out and placed it into the counting machine after finishing. The machine took a minute to process it, its small screen lighting up telling me my vote had been counted, and I was out the door again. I don't think I was in there more than ten minutes total. Back out in the sunshine once more, no poll watchers in site. Though a member of the neighborhood watch did hand me a flier with information on when their next meeting was to be held, and the like. She had set up a small booth on the edge of the sidewalk, hoping to get more people in the neighborhood to attend some meetings.

I didn't hear of any problems at any of our polling places happening yesterday. A friend of mine did raise some concerns over the new paper ballots we started using this year ( we had the touch screens before this, but they were scrapped when it was found out they could be hacked ) Well she, my friend raised the issue that the holding box for the counted ballots after they had been counted looked quite a bit like a fifty gallon trash can. Yeah her polling place is larger than mine is, serving more that one district. So a bigger container would be needed to hold all the ballots after they'd been counted. Mine looked like a largish shoe box, in any event the ballots have to be held, even after they have been counted as in the case of a run off recount is needed, and by Pa. law if it's less then a percentage point they do automatic recount. So, I'm sure that the ballots in her district are safe, though for next time they ( her district ) might need to bring in more than one counting machine as no one likes to think their vote as being cast away in the trash.

Another issue popped it head up in cyber space it seems as well. Someone claiming to be working at the court house in town saying that they were tossing ballots into the trash that were votes for Trump, and that Pa. was going blue this year. All lies, turns out person sending out the text didn't work at the court house, didn't even live in our state, to be sure the idiot who did the deed will be held accountable for the post by the law.

Any who, I'm sure the good people who are actually counting the ballots will be back at it again early this morning. I have no doubt that they will get the job done..it just may take them some time to do it. So, my friends if your waiting with bated breath to hear the out come from Pa. All I can tell you is be patient we'll get it done, and done right.

Of to shower now....

ah... so you are in PA? congrats on getting your count done before us in GA.

i don't know why voting in SAVANNAH took so long. i went on an early day and it took 2H. my friends in the ATLANTA suburbs only needed 10-20 min.

we have a double US Senate run off in Jan. can't imagine the line for that...
but it's an important vote so i'll be back in line!

We still have ballots that need counting. Mostly the ones from those serving in the armed forces using an absentee ballot. There are provisional ballots ( held for various reasons ) as well but it looks like those may not be counted. As it stands even if Trump won all the absentee votes he still wouldn't have enough to beat Biden's vote count. Good luck with your run off. Have a good one!
