Yeah, another up graded unit is in the process of being done. A three bedroom, no walls being taken down just replacing all the flooring with that click together stuff, ( a gray wood toned design ) painting out the oak cabinets in the kitchen and the bathroom Also gray, or maybe blue they haven't decided yet, getting new light fixtures, new stainless steel appliances and of course a paint job in all the rooms which includes all the trim. All in the same mid tone gray color.

As far as design wise goes, it'll be like walking into a dark cave when the blinds are closed. If it were me I'd leave the wood work white, as a contrast. Then again I just clean the places, which is why I'm regaling you all about this up grade in the first place. Seems the previous tenant left some marks on the walls, it happens the sofa gets pushed against the wall, the metal clock leaves a "ring" where it hung. Typical really and usually the guys just hit it with some primer and paint over the marks, easy peezy. With the mid tone gray going over the ecru color there now they won't even need to hit the marks with primer as the gray will cover it in one coat, eh? maybe two. But the PM is worried that it won't look good if those marks aren't cleaned off first, yeah I don't think she's pained a room in her life. She wanted me to try and clean those marks off. I went over and looked, no big deal say's the painter, and really no need as the paint job will do the job of covering the marks. As I said. I told him if he wanted me too I do the job ( cleaning the marks off ) and to give me a shout if he wanted it done. Then went back to doing my stairwells.

I don't mind doing things like that but what does get on my nerves is doing something I really don't need to because someone gets an idea in their head, that it just has to be done. In most cases this involves cleaning a unit before the work needed to get it up to snuff is even finished. It's like putting the cart before the horse. Sure it may look clean after I've finished , but the maintenance team will only come back the next day and make another mess, making the job I did cleaning it null and void. Better they finish their work and let me do mine after their done. It saves everyone the time and trouble.

Any who I'm off to shower....

Grey is an easy neutral color.... You can decorate grey with almost anything. It's actually one of my current favorites, my furniture is in shades of grey.

i'm giving up my apt in dec after 4.5 years. i should have ended the lease early but i thought i just needed to spend some time not alone versus permanently move to have a housemate again. when i signed up my lease i paid a one time non-refundable fee. so i should be able to leave the apt in any condition without being billed. i've talk to management and one of the issues in the apt is the trim around the kitchen cabinets. i was steaming to humidify the apt one day and it dislodged the trim. they did some maintenance work for me on the cabinets but not the trim. i cleaned out my last apt for them. this is my 2nd apt in the complex. so my goal is to go up this weekend to sort and donate. and then go back up in dec to clean it. i have friends who are going to take all the living room furniture from me. i'm giving them the keys this weekend. and i am not sure what to do with the bed. i have a bed where i am staying so he suggested putting my bed in storage. hope you had a good shower!

The manager needs a common sense checklist and your cleaning needs to be at the bottom of the list.

Grey OMG I sold my house and knew that it was going to get a make-over of some sort like refinishing the hard wood floors But when I went on line and looked at it on Zillow or something the entire inside was gray- one shade of grey both floors and the entry in the back. Seems that grey is the New In Color- and it now only looks depressing but sad
