Early voting has produced long lines at the polls, some waiting five hours or more to cast their vote. I expect there won't be such a wait for me though. There never is. I'm usually in and out in no time. Quite frankly, Pa. and here in Erie the County Board of Elections has things pretty much covered and in control when it comes to casting your ballot. True, there was an up tick of voters the last time I went in during the primary election. Aside from me there were four others in the room. Usually it's just me and the election officer's in the room.

I had to laugh when a "friend" on the book face place posted the item about the mail in votes for Trump being found in a ditch. At the time of the posting Pa. hadn't even stated to send out the mail in ballots. So, to have them come back IE found in a ditch before the ballots being sent out was, like most things these days a big fat pile of rubbish. I told her as much in a reply. But like most Trump supporter's once the lie has been told to them then it's the gospel truth. No amount of reasoning, or proof will shake them from their belief. Even statements from the Pa. Post Master as well as top state election people saying the story was bogus falls on deaf ears.

One thing to see that the long lines are showing that people are taking an interest in this election. Perhaps for the first time in their lives going out and doing their civic duty by casting their vote. That in itself is a good thing.
It's also good to know that the mail in votes already cast having been received have started to be counted by election boards across the nation. Perhaps we won't have to wait till Christmas to find out who won. Then again with such a hot race happening, I'm sure there will be candidates who'll contest the results and court cases will ensue.

But for me, I'll be voting in person. As usual, and I'll be glad when all this hoopla is over. The amount of junk mail in my mail box, and spam in my inbox from candidates telling me how good they are and how bad their rival is is wearing pretty thin about now.

Off to shower now....

My election information states that all the mail- in ballots as they come back are NOT counted until the day the polls in their state open- that until that time they are kept locked up

(Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

What I meant that they have come back and are actually there. The counting being the number of ballots received back from voters. Not that they have been opened and counted as to who the people voted for. Sorry for the confusion my friend.
