Dusting down the stairwells...still another phase to go, oh and the Lincon building. I doubt if I'll get to it today though. With three move outs over the weekend it looks like I'll be pre-cleaning in one or more of them today.

The son has all of his stuff packed, he'll be getting the moving van at nine today and loading everything into it, but won' t be leaving till sometime early tomorrow morning. Like me he hates to drive at night, so a pre dawn start works out better for him. He's going to be storing his car with a friend here in town till December when both he and his brother come home for the holidays. They'll fly in and drive the car back to Montana instead of flying home.

Home. it seems strange that both of my boys will now call Montana home. I knew eventually that someday they'd move on and start lives of their own, but in the back of my mind I always figured it be someplace close by, someplace in state. I never thought that their new lives would take them so far from the place they grew up in. I think that they have moved the farthest away from all the members of my family both my own and extended family. I think the farthest any of my extended family ever settled was Ohio. Well, there is my ex wife who lives in Texas now, but for me she no longer counts as part of "My" family. My daughter did move once herself, but only stayed for a couple of months before deciding to return to the home where she grew up.

Me, I've always lived in Pa. Grew up and stayed in the same town I was born in. I like to Joke, that I was born at St, Vincent's Hospital ( local hospital ) and that I'll probably die there as well. Pa. is home, the only place I've really known. I know it's a big world out there, and perhaps someday if I ever get the means and the time I'll visit some of it. ( I've always wanted to holiday in England , and who doesn't want to bask on some tropical island right? ) I'm sure with both my boy's living in Montana now ( or soon as the case is ) that I'll be going out there at some point for a visit, again when ever I get the time of course....

Off to shower now....

I would be trying to pack up the daughter and follow the boys to Montana. I'm a big baby when it comes to being separated from my children

i hope you find yourself able to have that vacation!

i have grown up on the east coast. i did a double trip to the west coast when i had some extra cash and time. i did one trip to portland, OR. and i did a trip to CA that started off in San Francisco as a foodie visit then flew to Fresno to meet family friends were we rented a van and drove down to San Diego then east to Phoenix. I got food poisoning in Phoenix from Chinese take out. i haven't done a trip like that since. my godsister moved to NW WA. she is kinda wishy washy with me. when i am between jobs and have the time i offer to fly out. but then she freaks i'm not working. but when i'm working i really don't have the time to fly that far. and she's not in the city. i would have to fly into Seattle and i think get a rental car for 4H? another friend did the visit up to her. i have no clue what her living situation is these days and how far a local hotel is... she's got three little kids now all in school. so i don't know what we would do. i mean i could meet her for lunch but what else would i do? she says i have to sail with her one day.

Wow, you've gotten around some. Me, I haven't traveled much. Down to see the Mouse's house in Fla. Up to the falls, though that was when you could still pop over to Canada without a passport. Almost managed to make to to NYC as well back in the day when I went up to visit the ex wife at her job, before we got married. But the resort where she worked was twenty miles away, and we didn't have a way into the city. ( no car ) I'd like to travel more, but it seems whenever I had the time, I didn't have the means and vice - virsa.
