 As I understand it - people accessing the website on a phone or tablet (As many people do) can't access, nor even see the existence of the blogs - unless they are accessing the website via the websites own proprietary app.

And those gold members that allow you to view their profile? Those are actually very likely gold members that have added standard member contacts to their membership. Gold members adding standard member contacts to their gold membership not only allows standard members to contact them - it also allows standard members to view their profile...

So as a standard member, if you can view a gold members profile - you can also send and/or exchange message center (Website email) messages with them. But as many people know - whether or not they may even bother to answer your messages may be a very different issue...lol
