Why does everyone get so attached?

I don't understand before I meet to inform that I am not looking for a relationship. Yet for some reason what should be a one night stand or a FWB turns into them catching feelings and than I feel like an ass when I have to be super blunt and than i feel like a major asshole.

 Well if you are honest about that before you meet then you shouldn't feel like an asshole, you should both be on the same page.
But.. don't look a gift horse in the mouth, if you like someone, then allow it to progress unless you're married or attached,,, keep an open mind
