I'm remembering,...

....vividly, my first time here. I was much, much then. The path in front of was new and undefined. The grass was a deep green and up to my shins. It was a spring of new adventures. My shoes tamping down the weeds and the thicket with every step. Before I even really got started on the long walk, it seemed effortless. It was the knowing that it would come eventually. It was the confidence of youth and knowing that time was on my side. I wouldn't be anonymous forever.

That first trip was more of a scouting mission than anything. I had pondered what I thought it would be like and how I would want it to go and, really, what I wanted out of the whole experience. I visited a lot of sites. Some more of the beaten path than others. At the end of the though, I didn't want it to be too hard to find .

Just like now, it started off slow. No one noticed in the beginning. I was a ghost in a sea of thousands of people. It took by surprise a little bit. I thought I was sure to be noticed. Those early days were nerve-wracking, but a little exciting, as well. It was that knowing, at some point, the ball will get rolling.

I'm here. I'm clear. Get used to it. - The Invisible Man
