Health influencers are advocating a certain Alpha male look; Love Island contestants are all buff. This look takes a fair few dedicated hours in the gym and probably isn't the only way to fitness. Hypertrophy is more of an aesthetic concern and can even be a barrier to more esoteric ways to health, those from the East most notably. I wouldn't say don't go to the gym, but you may also want to consider other options for your health and fitness regimen.
