I had a hard time today. I waa at my girlfriends house and we haven't been getting along very well lately. Last night and this morning I began to think that we would be better off never seeing each other again. It's a gard thing to do. Okay... that brings more understanding of this. You, like everyone, is first infatuated with the person. Infatuation [passion] can last up to 6 month , to about 3 years. Then burns out.

For example, in the beginning you may found her craziness exciting or cute, but now it just bothers you.

The couple, not necessarily both individuals at the sametime, feels the burnout and takes some emotional time sifting through their feelings about what to do next. You chose to tell her good bye.
