 Hi, one good way to do it is use your blog, check out the people who read your blog. you could add a comment to there blog where they could reach out to you.

 You can make a private message box on your blog for members who want to contact you hun and they can remain private for your eyes only. Unfortunately they just took away 3 free IM's daily to standard members, now you have to use points to chat with other members. There are a lot of us members who are always giving points away. Enjoy blog land hun and welcome..

 marybaby, on your personal home page you can comment on the photos that people have posted. that also gives you visibility and whatever the tone of your comment, the poster can reply back (or not, if they so choose), and/or view your profile/blog in return. there are other ways to participate on this site beyond 'chat'

 Yeah, just like everyone has been saying, using the blog as a means of connecting is a way to then share contact details to chat or talk offsite.

 Blogs are the way to go right now, until the powers that be decide what to do with the I*M*. It doesn't work at all for this gold member, so I don't use it. But I have set up a personal postbox on my blog where Standard members can contact me.

Go to BiggLala's blog, if you wish to know how to create a personal postbox. Easy enough instructions to follow, and it doesn't leave you feeling like you need to know rocket science.

 I agree with most of the commenters that you can make a Personal Postbox or use one of the many chat rooms, especially your local Manitoba one. Also, you could use points to view and e-mail potential members who pique your curiosity. If all else fails, you will simply have to buy/pay for a membership. Good luck in your search.
