I cannot remember the exact details, but I think someone's profile content was "borrowed" for a news/website article on swinging and this "disclaimer" that everyone was encouraged to include in their profile was supposed to counteract that. Something like that anyway. I don't think it worked. When you sign up to Senior Sizzle or one of the affiliated sites, I think you sign away all your rights to ownership of content including photos/videos that are uploaded. So it is always good to watermark your important images if you think they might be used elsewhere.

Great blog thanks for the information.

The warning is, legally, worthless. If someone causes you harm by using your photos or impersonating you; or derives financial benefit from the use of your images or likenesses -- that may be a different matter legally. But the warning won't help you there, either. It is a legal "so what?"

Great post! Those warning the site suggests are to give members a false sense of security to members! This site does not have the equipment much of anything back to it's source! They, just like anyone can use 411.com, for a nominal fee, to trace a phone call back to the sending phone but as u know, or should, if it came from a "burner phone", Google it, it's useless! Just a quick lesson, kept real simple. When u hit the enter key ur message will travel thru thousands of routers before the recipient gets it. To do a reverse search takes thousands of dollars worth of equipment, the FBI and Military have millions of dollars worth and it can still months or even years to trace! Just a Quickie explanation! Hope it helps.

No, I do not have this warning on my profile. It really is not enforceable and a waste of time. If the site wants to use your pics and information they can because you agree to it when you signed up. If anyone else does, well thats a different matter but the site probably wouldnt do much anyway. As others have said, if you dont want your information out there, then don't put it out there for everyone to see.

I don’t use the warning, i do often see it around almost everywhere. I figured if I post something on here then someone is bound to use it some way which is why I post things I’m comfortable sharing with the world lol.

When I came up with the idea for red baseball hats with an abbreviation for My Alzheimers is Going Away 4 years ago, I was going to copywrite it but I can't remember my lawyers name. It was Julianny or Gulliani or something like that........ what are we talking about?

I once or twice wondered why people would put this "Warning" on their profiles. I couldn't be bothered following it up ...

No.....i dont have it on my profile, as i always thought it was meaningless. If Not.....and it worked for some people....then Kudos. I do think if someone is going to go the entire route with the attorney and all then YES, they would admit to being on this site because it may mean a monetary settlement. The other thing is that the mere signing up/in , there is a disclaimer. Lastly, this is the very reason why , we should NOT put any thing up in cyberville, that is questionable or damaging because once we hit ' send' its out there for anyone to do whatever with....Ugh ~~

I don't have the warning on my profile but I've seen it on plenty of others. I did wonder whether it actually works. Thanks for putting things straight. I will check those blog posts and links out. Good to see a post from you on here again
