That's quite a long ride you took, I am surprised you didn't know that if you ride that long you would be saddle sore, that's what we always called it..lol But it's all about having fun and seems you succeeded in your endeavor my friend. 65 miles is a fair bit to go in one day. Even though the horse is doing most of the work, I understand it's not plain sailing just "sitting there" and it takes a fair bit of effort in the saddle. Did just under 30 miles on my own "horse" today, but sadly I had to power it all by myself.

I think that the longest distance I have traveled horseback is about 24 miles on a wagon train. This was in SW Wisconsin so there were a few hills (county roads). I think that it was about 9 hours with an hour at noon and two other breaks of about half an hour total. So 24 miles in 7 and a half hours travel time for just over 3 mph travelling speed. Heavy horses at a walk mostly. That particular wagon train went from Prairie du Chien to near Green Bay in two weeks with one day layover in the middle. I only did the first three days, as I did not want to take that much time off and away from the other horses (mares and foals)

Aye, my "horse" has two wheels and a handlebar and pedals. But yes it can be relaxing and peaceful if I head out of town, but can be kinda stressful having to negotiate and avoid the drivers if I stay in town.
