Her Eyes

Her Eyes A woman’s eyes may be the most captivating part of her body Piercing through you, like an arrow through the heart when offended More addicting and often as debilitating as black tar heroin when revealing her love They speak of joy and sorrow, love and hate, frustration and peace, boredom and amazement I fell in love with her eyes the first time she sat across the table from me Mine spoke of trepidation and anxiety, unsure of the path I was choosing Hers spoke of intrigue and concern, excitement and love The beautiful green tone, soothing in its aura, overcame my fears Time flew by, pictures exchanged, hearts grew close The light in her eyes while away was as distant as the miles that separated us When we were together, it shone brighter than the noonday sun Why the difference, I didn’t know, but I longed to make them shine bright Now we are no longer, the gaze I long for, absent from my sight The light in my eyes dimmed with the glazing of tears Unseen, I can only hope that hers are shining bright I can no longer make a difference and my heart bre |
