Testing your Creativity

With my work schedule, it is rare to have a few days without any responsibilities or plans. I have 4 days of freedom at the end of next week!
Going to need some help finding fun to keep me busy. Want to take advantage of the long weekend while I have it.
Not planning on leaving the Dallas area, so throw me some ideas of what to do without driving or flying long distances.
You don't have to live in the Dallas area to give me ideas. Maybe you have just visited here or have experience finding creative pleasure in a big city.
What would you do if you had a few days free?
Where would you go?
Because my friends will likely still be busy with their lives, I may have to find something to do while flying solo. Doing things by myself has never bothered me, but it would be great to find something more unique than a movie. Or maybe you have a good idea of where single people can go to connect and meet people.
No idea is a bad idea. If you had the time to read this blog, humor me by throwing out a plan.
P.S. Sorry about the creepy clown picture. Blog posts are always more interesting with pictures.

Don't be shy! If I try your idea, I will report back on how it went.

First of all - how is the weather. That determines whether it's an outside activity or inside.
Secondly - where would you tell a visitor to go? When was the last time you went there yourself?
If you're on the Face place - they have an events section. See if there are any food, drink or music festivals going on.

My go to activities -
Swimming
The Zoo
Historical museum
Nature center

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I personally try to look into the comedy scene in a city. I've even taken a few improv classes to meet new people. Actually a lot of fun and you meet some pretty uninhibited people

That's a good idea. I am going to have to research that a little more.

I like the outdoors and no people when I am trying to unwind so I would head out to White Rock Lake there apparently there is a great Botanical Garden and Arboretum there.

Love being outdoors so I will probably check that out. Do you live in the Dallas area? Any other parks or lakes you would recommend?

No I dont live there, I am in Canada. My brother travels all over for work and he had some down time there and I suggested he go there to unwind. He loved it. Hopefully you do as well.

The Heard Nature Center/Museum in McKinney is a great place to walk the trails. Of course there are the Dallas Nature Center and Ft Worth Nature Centers too. Sept 28 are the Vintage Market Days in Denton and in Decatur if you like that type of stuff. Whatever you decide, have fun.

The Vintage market sounds like it could be fun. Thanks for the suggestions.

The last time I was in Dallas I went out to Meddlesome Moth and there were lots of fun people partying there...and around that neighborhood. Grapevine is out since you don't want to drive but in case you change your mind, it was a lot of fun for me *coughtequila

Hah. Where would I go in Grapevine?
