How old are you?

How old are you?

There's that question a guy isn't supposed to ask. But this is for both women and men.

I get some crazy responses to emails about my age. Had a couple of ladies accuse me of being a bot, scammer, what not, because they didn't think my pictures matched my age. LOL.

I had a semi-long term relationship, that's new I just made it up. It will be referred to as a S-LTR. Any ways, she lied about her age on here and in life all the time. But the difference was, just lied up, not down. She was 39 and told everyone she was 49. Her profile read 49. Her reasoning, was then "everyone tells me how great I look, wow you don't even look that old, etc." haha.

Anyways, how important is age to you? Do you ever lie about your age? As you get older, do you feel age matters less, more or no change?

For all the regulars on here, who I've responded to and responded to me. If you see my profile age jumping all over the place over the next few weeks, ignore it. I'm running a experiment. Somewhere in the future, I'll tell ya what i found.

I have no reason to lie about my age. It’s real. I love the ones tha Care in the 90’s (such as yourself 😏) and the clever ones that use “69”..
Just want them to be honest with me in person. On here, it doesn’t bother me too much.

I agree, it really doesn't bother me. By the way, looking at your profile I'd have guessed you were in your 40s.

Depends if you are thinking of a "hook-up" or something more lasting. The former, age has no bearing, it is simply attraction. In the latter, you're more likely to have things in common with somebody relatively near to your age, but plainly there are exceptions. A wise person judges on the individual and not some preconceived notion.

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 11:45 am:
good point on the hook up, or S-LTR comparison. And spot on for the rest of your comment.

I judge folks on their interior, not on their calendar. An exception will be a really young "dude" who "loves older women". And frankly, if you lie about your age on purpose, what other tales are untrue

There is no reason to lie about my age , more then once i have been told i look younger then i actually am

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 12:11 pm:
I couldn't tell from looking at your profile. It used to bug me when I looked younger than i was.

I agree with what you're saying here. It really shouldn't matter, within reason, how old you are. Though, I can say, I really don't want to date anyone too much younger than me. Seems like there's just no "connection". I don't want to spend the evening talking about what Kardashian did this week.

In my profile I make a comment about people "embellishing" on here, and to be honest it hasn't really bothered me too much in people I've met. Of course they were small embellishments. But your point is well taken, on the what else isn't true.

If you have such a high "age" people won't find you within their search criteria.?.

That's part of the experiment.

I don't mind saying just because I've earned a lot of those years. A bunch of people that knew me long ago are still surprised the last 25 or so of them even occurred. Personally it doesn't matter that much I care more about how the person is than a number, there does become a point that usually there is just to many differences in thought that it just isn't worth thinking about for long.

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 12:30 pm:
Agreed. And I laughed at the first part of your response. I had no plans on living past 30 when i was a kid. Almost every time I see someone from high school or college the response is something like.."damn you're still alive".

My age shown here is close but not accurate. There is significant reason to post something other than the real info - the info you post here is not really secure. This place, like others, has been h@cked a number of times.

Age is relevant if a relationship is intended to be long term and having common reference points is preferred.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Ok, in reference to the comment by seems, and by the way I think she's probably right, but again I want to see.

But apparently being 96 makes me a hit on IM. LOL..it lit up since I changed my age.

I never lie about my age and the reason I don't is because I am proud of the way I look for my age and someone is bound to find out if I do lie..being honest is a big thing for me in my life and when I am in someone elses life that's why I sleep nights no one points a finger at me and accuses me of anything especially lying I am brutally honest .. ..lol good one ..

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 1:07 pm:
I agree you look great for 65. And I agree with your other comments. I used to tell my kids, the beauty of telling the truth is all you have to remember is what really happened. If you're going to lie, you have to also remember all the things you lied about.

And, thanks.

If I am going to lie, I certainly would not choose 68. I never lie about it.
I will not be with a man as old as me cause, hell, I’m ancient.

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 1:54 pm:
Hahaha, great response. And hey, I know I'm just a youngster, but I really believe your only as old as you think you are. And as we get older, it's more a badge of honor.

I dont lie about my age, I have never cared, its about how I feel about myself. I have leaned a pretty clean life and try to stay in shape, although I stray. I had a goal before turning 50 to be able to do my age in push-up, I achieved that so I think I am ahead of the game. Age in who I date is somewhat important to me, but as I have learned there are some mature younger people, and immature older people. I do believe its important to set an example for my daughter.

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 1:58 pm:
First off let me say if you can do 50 pushups, your waaaaay ahead of the game. Kudo's. And I agree wholeheartedly about setting the example for your daughter. My daughter and I have that talk a lot. She was getting "out of shape" laying around too much. I try to tell her, it's not all about how you look. It's more about how healthy you are now, and how healthy you will be in the future. She listens to me more than her older siblings and has really made some great changes in the last year. So keep it up and kudo's for that aspect as well.

Age really doesn't matter to me as I have been told I don't look my age either which makes me feel really good. My daughters get upset sometimes because people often think were sisters lol. And we are what's considered the SEXY SENIORS..lol. I never lie about my age as I have absolutely no need too!! I hope your enjoying your weekend so far..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 2:58 pm:
Hell yeah we the sexy seniors. Been a great weekend. Just doing stuff around the house. Just finished making some beer battered shrimp for me and my daughter. And have absolutely no plans for the evening, which means I think I'm about to pop me a bottle of wine.

Have a great evening

Corresponded with.Sadly.Lying is never a good thing in my book!

Using more than all the road!

Platosgames replies on 8/25/2018 3:27 pm:
I haven't actually found anyone lying to me about their age yet, with the exception of the S-LTR i spoke of. And she was honesty with me from the first message. While the little white lies don't bother me that much, after reading through the responses, I'm beginning to think maybe they should. thanks for the perspective.

For many years my age shown was lower than it really was. For those who could actually read it, I wrote in my profile what my real age was and that I wrote a younger age to not limit searches. Not that I am looking for men a lot younger than me, just once you write over 50 and now over 60 it is hard to find men who are interested and many think I am just an old lady desperate for sex.

In the last couple year I have not been really looking to meet (I had met a lot of men here in the past) I set my true age to show. I do not get very many emails...but that was expected since I also removed all my naked or near naked pics.

Since I do not want to meet men under a certain age, I do pay attention to what is on a profile. I sorta figure anyone who writes a ridiculous age must be not so young...youngsters do not have that kind of sense of humor.

I think the age thing as a search tool is probably used by more than a few of us. Or should I say , the opt out of the search pool. I set my search range in between 37 and 67, and like you, I then read the profiles. I think once we get above 40, certainly by 50, we start to see age as less of a factor. For me, it's more about who the person is, and do I enjoy spending time around them.

I'm over 50 btw, and you're not that old. Age is a frame of mind. Well until you get to be 96, then there's some truth in it.
