Photographs and Memories...

Christmas cards you sent to me
All that I have are these
To remember you...

Which I believe are very important to have. Of course I'm that weird person who saves just about anything ever given to them, so I constantly have things that jog my memory. Just the other day I was looking for a paper I had filed away and I came across all the letters I had received from an old high school buddy while he was sent away. I also found a drawing from a dear old friend I hadn't talked to a decade. Needless to say I looked her up to say hi, look what I found lol.

Today though it was a song. I heard Katrina and the Waves on YouTube and immediately thought of my best friend. He and I have been friends since I was 12 and he was 13 (I was effectively a year younger than everyone in my grade). Through the course of the years he always played/sang/requested I'm walking on Sunshine every time he had a love interest. Heck at both his weddings was standing next to him humming the song lol. So when it came on, I immediately thought of him and sent him a message.

Funny thing was, he said he was getting ready to message me for the same reason. He heard Signs by Tesla and immediately thought of me and high school. How I used to have a speaker shoved in my locker that I wired up to play from my Walkman. He heard that and remembered that I would sit before class jamming that out of my locker eating fudge rounds. It is always good to reminisce a little, while always moving forward.

I started growing my cheesy porn stache back then, and all but a few times in my life have had the facial hair ever since. My two oldest friends I met in middle school. The three of us talk almost everyday together. We can say anything about anything, and no one gets mad. We understand each other that well. To this day they tease me about the cheesy porn stache, of course I tease them about other things (is what we do).

Since you have read this far down memory lane for me here is a treat, or a punishment depending on your view

I didn't turn 18 for another half year after graduation, so here is 16 and 17 year old me from my senior year in high school back in '93. Yes I was a two sport lettermen. NO I'm not Al Bundy with my tales of greatness from that time lol Unless you ask my best friend mentioned earlier, he will say other.

Thanks, I think so too. I have found you can really get lost in old letters. It transports you back to that period in time.

I will do, you please enjoy yours as well.

Thanks sweetie. The pics, oddly enough if I shave I look pretty much the same as I did then. Even with the added 45 pounds. (I was only 160 back then )

WOW you would not believe the things and memory triggers I had to clean out after 24 years when I moved last December. Even old year books.

I just commented on a different thread about how most guys on here are good decent rational dudes with rock hard penises - a normal part of human nature. I was lamenting the perception that guys on here we're creepy drug taking child molesters.
    Thanks for proving me correct!

    Great pics, dude.
Thanks man, I appreciate it.

There are a bunch of creeps out there which makes it hard for the rest of us. Just like there are a bunch of money wanting fake women on here that make it difficult for the real women.

Just have to sift through the coal to find the diamonds

Hahaha thanks, trust me I did look "older" back then. Never had any trouble buying beverages

I appreciate you saying so, I do believe I've aged better then some of my classmates.

I've got a pretty good idea, it's funny when you think about what people choose to save, and what may trigger a memory.

Whether it's a song, smell, or keepsake...

Adorable is like calling a girl cute lol...just kidding. Thanks though seriously.

I have neither an academic or professional background in history. Oddly enough my acedamia is varied in Mathematics, English, Humanities, Religion, Education, Accounting, and Management. Ask me sometime if you are interested.

Yeah the funny think about the humming, I swear I heard him humming along to. Their five year is Saturday I think I will ask him.
