What's your best first date plan?

What's your best first date plan?

Going out on a first date is always interesting. You can do the safe late lunch/coffee where if things dont go well you still have the rest of the day. You can do a movie (plenty of people), but as fun as movies are it's hard to get to know someone. Hang out at eithers place, although potentially risky depending on how you met.

For me the ideal would be to go out for a bite to eat (somewhere reasonable) maybe have a drink or two with dinner. Then (as long as the conversation facilitated more) going putt putt, or to an arcade, or activity similar. Basically you get to have a conversation over food, and then have some fun. Get past the jitters and what not. Of course everything is negotiable, depending on the people involved. Now after that first date, subsequent ones could be the movies, park, playing games with friends (cards or board), museums and a whole plethora of other things.

What do you like to do?

I'd love to discuss options with someone, and maybe make plans...

I can't figure out if you're talking about a first vanilla date from a dating site or a first date with someone you've been talking to here. Not that they're THAT different but for me, but a first date from here is ideally a happy hour kind of thing. Drinks, appetizers, maybe 90 minutes tops with that known up front. Open-ended plans on a first date usually never work for me, there's always a rush to the "end" and a glossing over of the "getting to know" part. With a timeline, there's more focus to the conversation and the energy.

Good point I'm just talking about a first date in general. I suppose if you are having a first date with a specific outcome in mind it would alter it. I've also never thought about having a set time for more focused conversation. Interesting points. I like it.
