From The Pan To The Fire

I fear hear in California Tuesday won't be a good day for me nor the once Golden State.

I was besides myself yesterday when an add for most likely our next governor came across the TV. His stance was very anti Trump and no surprise, actually non of it was. But I guess it just hit home coming straight from the 's mouth.

I was born in Ca. as was my husband and our . We never were on welfare, nor took food stamps. My husband took one week of unemployment during his thirty-eight of being in construction. If you think that was the only week he was without work then you don't know construction nor have you lived through a El Niño where it's rains for days on end. The point being we did without. Aid is aid and not to be used unless a last result.

I also worked in my past, retired now. I never applied for unemployment, not once. For myself and because of an accident and arthritis my doctor and others have told me to file for disability. Again if I can get by without it then I will not be a drain to the hobbled system.

We've paid our taxes and it was our policy to leave whatever we visited cleaner then how we found it. In the PTA, supported local needs and sport teams. Every that knocked on the door made a sale. No Red bucket was walked past without dropping something in. St. Jude was our favorite but most got something even if it was little. And our church received the most of all like most I'd guess. Funny enough we did fund polititions as we felt that just added to their fall from grace.

But after all of that Gavin makes the claim no better then the illegal that just climbed over the wall. If he was God I'd totally agree but he is not God. But sadly odds on our new Govenor. Our Governor, we American/Californians. Neither of these hold no weight anylonger?

Our efforts and sacrifices mean nothing? It's not easy to say but feeling foolish/stupid here now. To be honest feeling like the second class citizen here. It seems like come Wednesday some new thinking on my part might be in order, that's almost as sad to think of.

We/I was never (where's mine) sacrifice was something to be proud of. There's always someone who has it worse, let them have it. But feeling like the only one bucketing out the water in our sinking boat, egged on to go faster by the others with empty pales in their hands.
