Perspective...

As of Sunday 7-28-, I'm five days in to having basically no power in my house. I have three outlets work, so I have an extension cord running from my fridge to my 's room; so my fridge does work. I had to find a place to give me a loan because I don't have the ( $3,000 to $3.500) to replace the electrical panel. And yes I do have a career and am college educated. However, support and alimony bleed me dry every month. My point is I don't have a savings with kind of in it.

Of course, the temperature where I live has been in the nineties each day. It has been weird to have no stove, microwave, television, radio, washer and dryer, and no air conditioning. My point in writing this blog is I've discovered my life truly is about perspective. For me, I need to find things to be grateful for daily, or it's kind of like what's the point of being here. This experience I'm going through now has given me perspective. I need to be grateful for the small things every day as well as the big things each day.

Please don't interpret this blog as complaining. I'm not complaining, I'm explaining what I'm going through at the moment. I know there are places in the US and the world go without electricity for long periods of time and some don't have electricity at all. However, what I'm experiencing still sucks lol.

But here's a cool thing (pun intended) happened during this experience. I was bitching about this to one of the girls on here I've become very good friends with. She literally offered to put me and my up in a hotel until the work is done on the house. I started crying, it was so emotional. Of course, I turned her down. I'm not going to take advantage of someone's kindness like . Plus, the fact her and I have never met in person yet, made it even more amazing she would offer . It was overwhelming she would offer such kindness.

So 's the point of sharing my misery on this blog. Even though I turned it down, her act of kindness resonated with me. It is true it is the thought counts. Kindness and love are stronger than the fear and hatred seem to be bouncing around this country at the moment like a plague of locusts.

Anyway, thanks for reading my blog and I'm glad i figured out how to get my Internet thing plugged in so I can at least go on the Internet. As always, be safe and have fun.

Terri

I NOW HAVE ELECTRICITY AGAIN...what a blessing.
