Lifestyle change

After 40 years of smoking, many of those years as a heavy smoker, I have decided to give giving up smoking a decent go. Over recent years my smoking has decreased and now i am a point in my life where the change in that part of my lifestyle needs to be made.

There are two main reasons for the decision :

The first being the financial costs - the price of cigarettes have increased by 30% over the past 3 years to around $30 for a packet of 20s, realistically it is my hard earned money 'going up in smoke'.

The second is my health, obviously to extend my own life without continually increasing the prospects of smoking relating health issues - I am very aware that later in life that there may very well be health consequences related to those years of smoking. Also and more important to me personally in regards to extending my life is to be healthy and able to spend time with and enjoy being with friends and family, specifically my 4 young grand who I adore.. I want to be around to see them, to experience as they grow in their lives.

It is only 3 days into the new year of change, so far, so good...
